Creation of the Gods is now available for streaming with subbed on Dramacool for free. Just google search for Dramacool and then search for the movie in the search bar there.

I just watched it and it was awesome movie in every department. The visuals were fantastic and very unique I would say. The story was surprisingly dark and full of violence. I expected it to be much tame since its a Chinese movie with censorship. Chinese TV dramas are very clean in comparison. This movie almost felt like Game of thrones esque in terms of violence and killing your own kin. There was an even a scene of cannibalism.

So overall a very mature and yet exciting Hollywood level Chinese fantasy movie with very high production values. Looking forward to the sequels

Highly recommended. A story of friendship; ambition, loyalty, integrity, service to others; service to a code of ethics....Not to mention the beautiful poems of historical past that was the TANG DYNASTY.

I just watched a (three years-old) PBS (USA) documentary on the Shanghai Quartet. I’m not the biggest fan of Classical Music, but, the documentary was interesting. It highlighted some of their works from an album called Chinasong which was inspired by, and based on, traditional Chinese folk-songs. They also incorporate some Chinese traditional instruments into some of their works.
Anyone, here, familiar with them?

I went to a concert of this band, a few years back, when they performed at a local university in my neighborhood. I was really surprised to see that the whole audience was made up of members of local Chinese communities. There was only one other black guy in the whole place, and I knew him, LOL!
Now, as much as I’m not the biggest fan of Classical Music, I doubt that anyone, here, is a Jazz fan, but, anyways...
I love that they named this tune “Made In China”; the traditional song-form at the beginning and ending of the tune are lovely!
