Slightly off-topic but Japanese Anime/Manga is facing an impending crisis in which the industry could die out soon or at least need to change significantly. This could be an opportune time for Chinese Donghua and Chinese studios to capitalize on it and perhaps co-develop kind of like how Genshin Impact used Japanese VAs to promote a Chinese game.

Supposedly a very anticipated series by wong kar wai (his movies seem too abstract for me lol)


Wong Kar Wai is one my favorite filmmakers of all time. But the last good film he directed was 2046, which was nearly 20 years ago. The Grandmaster and The Hand were mediocre at best. My Blueberry Nights was an unmitigated disaster.

I hope Blossoms Shanghai is a return to form for him.
