Well, there is really only one person (@minusone) who fell for the clickbait title. It's no surprise that he is the very same genius who has consistently demonstrated a lack of reading comprehension, intellectual honesty, and operational control over his mouth, and one who eagerly fibs, misrepresents, lies, and spreads nonsense from suspect sources without using any critical filter. When challenged or contradicted, he deflects and obfuscates, erects straw men, lies some more, hurls accusations, plays the victim, digs deeper, throws tantrums, all the while being dismissive toward and openly hostile to constructive feedback and explanations on forum norms from other members on multiple occasions. In other words, he ticks all the boxes for

Wow this guy put more effort on an insult than me on my thesis.

's model for testing the stability control system of a V/STOL aircraft.

Previously, 601's director (赵霞) mentioned that there are four variants to a new generation aircraft. I now wonder if they include a V/STOL variant of the J-31/35. The test model certainly resembles a J-31/35.

IMO it is a F-35 and not in China similar to the alleged steamy drone which was simply a faked X-47

You're right, Deino.

It is a turbine based combined cycle engine. The institute is CASIC third academy 31st institute. The institute has proposed two types, TRRE and Precooler type.

One of the engineer talked about the purpose of the test is to verify "ignition at a critical condition", this is typical challenge of combined cycle engine changing mode from turbine to ram and scram. The test was a success.

The video did not give any hint of which type it is though.

BTW, the precooler has been tested for "cooling down inlet" in 2021.

Nothing to do with missile engines. Looks like a scramjet with asymmetric inlet, and probably combined with a turbofan engine
I have no idea how your friend got the idea of "asymmetric inlet". There is only engine element tested inside test chambers (those heavy duty tubes with screws).

The twitter post is way too stretchy by making conclusions from nothing shown. The aerospike footage is NOT from the test lab but unrelated video that I have seen before. CCTV does that wild copy/paste very often.
That's NOT a scramjet. It's a rotation detonation engine. You can tell by the aerospike at the engine outlet. The detonation engine gives a 30% or more boost to engine efficiency. You can't run a scramjet on a test stand.

Sounds like a type of aerospace engine that is suitable for aircrafts and/or drones like the SR-72 and/or WZ-8?
At 16:59 of the video, it says the new engine is for 空天动力, Air and Space. This means it is like TRRE, SABBRE, TBCC, RBCC, Trijet etc for sub-orbit flight.
