If it is a licensed copy they will use the word SGT 700 for better sales. If you check that list, there is one SGT600 there from Siemens, this contractor does both foreign and Chinese turbine installations i think.
I checked the official website on the list of their industrial gas turbine products, SGT-700 is listed in the same roll as QD300. Since there is a slight gas flow rate difference between the two gas turbines, probably they made some modification to justify the change of product name to QD300.

If they can produce a uprated Siemens equivalent, that's amazing.

China has two companies making them, having different model names and specifications are slightly different.

AGT-110 is the improved version of R0110

I'm very confused, there's a lot of contradictory information on this R0110 turbine. State media said in 2017 that it was developed based on Ukrainian technology, but the language was ambiguous whether the turbine was actually done or was still being worked on. Then your linked article states that it passed some kind of approval test for projects but doesn't really state what that entails. Now we have news that the turbine's successor has passed all operational tests and is (presumably) ready for production?

The whole timeline here is muddled even more by state media claiming in November last year that the country's first ever heavy turbine for commercial use had rolled off the assembly line, but that was a completely different 50MW model. So what is going on? If anyone has an idea i would really appreciate it.

let me help you.

R0110 turbine project was officially established in 2002. it was basically collaboration between multiple Chinese institutes under the guidance of AVIC. it was the first ever heavy duty gas turbine project in PRC history. Shenyang liming engine institute also played major role in this project.

it really took 20 years to realize the goal of 100 percent domestic heavy duty gas turbine. include core parts as well.

now lets come to second part of your question.

what about 50MW F class heavy duty gas turbine ? this gas turbine design and produced by Dongfang Electric Co., LTD. this is first time a Chinese civil company design gas turbine without any help from Military industrial complex from scratch. so State media count this turbine first ever Chinese commercial turbine being developed by a civilian firm. so don't confuse.

two different projects carried by two different entities.

Do we have any efficiency numbers regarding the AGT110?
BTW some of the engines I saw on the chart are very impressive. QD300 and QDR185 are easily comparable with the best RR, GE, and Siemens offerings in their power classes.

yeah, I remember in my early days on this forum like back in around 2008, I was already reading about this turbine. It's truly crazy that we've taken 20 years from them to fully reach 100% domestic.

Looks like here are the efficiency numbers

R0110 is at 34.5%

btw, I think the combined cycle gas turbines can achieve 60% efficiency with natural gas. What does China have for that? IIRC, such gas turbine can also operate at similar efficiency level for hydrogen fuel. That will be pretty important going forward

So the R0110 was a localized copy of an 80's era Ukrainian turbine, and the AGT-110 is a modernized version of that design?

If so that makes sense, and it's definitely big news that the latter is ready for mass production, assuming its hot components are local too.
