also, FWS-10 out look , some chinese forum joked its "菊花" (chrysanthemum),
as maya just show the photos before, and inside the engine blades, one blade suppress next one, forming a circle. but Al-31F inside the engine blades, two blades suppress one blade wich in centrol, then forming a circle.
both inside blade and out look are different.

FWS-10 engine nose is in a contraction,if it is expanding, its out look like " chrysanthemum ". see maya's photo.

Actually ,the original version of FWS-10 series is 10A(130kN thrust class, featuring its gearbox and most accessories mounted beneath.),designed to power J-10.
in 1987,the "No.10 engine project" was offcially launched ,it included 10A and some derivatives.

If ws-10a is the original engine, then what is ws-10? the same as ws-10a?

maya has been pretty consistent that FWS-10A is designed for J-10 and FWS-10 is designed for J-11.

Any info on the WS-10A being capable of thrust vectoring? The appearance of its nozzle seems to indicate that capability. My guess is the design allows it to have that capability, but, at the moment, it has not been implemented yet.

Thanks für posting ... can anyone PLEASE give an exact translation !!!

Is this a confirmation that the WS-10A is based on the CFM-56 ???

Deino
Exactly translation:
From seven five (seventh five year plan) to 1997, utilising CFM-56's core (deep analysis, experimentation, copying), plus technical experience from the development of WS6 and number 14 (WP14) and results from high thrust to weight ratio research, successfully developed the 13200kg thrust, 7.5 thrust to weight ratio 10A engine, used on the "new fighter" which is superior to the US F-16...

two years ago, I read sinodefence.com talk about Vayarg that fits J-10 and Su-33 becaurse thrust vectoring engine.
if Al-31FN is thrust vectoring engine, that WS10-A should be the same.

harley, you shouldn't hotlink photos because they might not show (like in this case). Please upload them onto sites like imageshack before posting them in the future. Or else, don't bother posting them.
