One could ask why you were interested in bringing up corruption in the first place -- it's not like anyone here or anyone in China or the Communist Party denies it exists and is an issue which needs to be tackled.

I've noticed over the years that you are able to quite consistently take a sentence from someone's post and managing to reinterpret in a way to start a tangential talk about corruption in China or something about supreme overlord Xi or something driven by yourself that usually lasts maybe a page or so before fizzling out.

There's nothing wrong with trying to segue into a different discussion as such, but you're not exactly doing it subtly, and more importantly the subject you're trying to segue into is one which is discouraged if not outright prohibited by the forum, so I'm not sure why you bother.

Basically what you're thinking. Ie: doing what the US has done with their own (still currently global reserve) currency and financial markets and absorb wealth from other countries. Covering any excessive expenditures by doing so. Simplistic view but even so. It's very tempting to do such a thing given the opportunity.

I call them as I see them, good and bad. On the other hand, I like inputs from posters like you and plawolf, because, agree or disagree, your reasoning are generally sound and well crafted. Keep up the constructive feedback Blitzo.

There was a study I read years ago that looked at how long it took for Western countries to get from point A to point B during a critical time of an industrial economy. For them it was in the forty year range. China... around a dozen years, faster than anyone else. If that's corruption, it's the best kind. Just because no one was convicted let alone indicted for the 2008 financial crisis, that doesn't mean there wasn't any corruption involved.

Yeah but at what cost?
The air, water pollution is completely without any working regulations that is killing thousands if not millions. Heavy metal tainted rice, the collapsing fishing resources forcing fishermen to poach fishing water on the other side of the planet.
Don't think it's anything to praise openhanded.
