Stating someone is making senseless statements doesn't make it so. It only amplifies it as an ad hominem attempt on your part unless you can point out why Doombreed's statements are what you paint them to be.

Read his post and see why it is obvious.

Unfortunately you still have to make the case because in a proper discourse it is the professional thing to do. If it is obvious then deconstructing his reasoning should be fairly simple and straight forward.

Do you agree with his statement?

1) No one gives a shit. Really. Anyone that still holds the China =Communist = Bad idea is an ignorant idiots and their opinion don't really matter anyway. No one hates China just because you're communist. Really. Kids now days don't even know what communism means. In fact. It's kinda cool to be communists again.

He is saying it is "tribal" but that term and its meaning is broadly based by his examples. The difference in world view I think yours is more narrowly focused as explained by political beliefs (communist) and the economic and military rise of China. I am not even sure why the divide is so significant that you are having this to and fro because human by nature is fickle and opinionated. That means you will find a spectrum of opinion across the population and it is constantly changing as dynamics within their universe changes. Obama's popularity is now in its low 40's within the US population. I am sure they have polls that tell them why but regardless there will always be someone that will not like him or for that matter China due to whatever reason; real, imaginary or ignorance. Unless you have facts backed up by empirical evidence I guess your guess is as good as his. The question I have is - does it matter or maybe you guys are arguing over nothing? My 2 cents worth.

Let's just stick to his first statement. As for empirical evidence, neither you nor I have it.

Do you agree that "No one hates China just because you're communist."
Do you agree that "It's kinda cool to be communists again."

I think he can defend that statement by explaining that people hate China for various reasons including that it is communist rather than just because it is communist.

Being cool means different things to different people including that being communist doesn't have the connotation of the past like Pol Pot or the Great Leap era. In that sense there is less apprehension of a connection to that darker past.

In my opinion, if you are trying to box him into a narrow set of reasoning it will be difficult because by design or default his reasoning is relatively broad base and by nature simply has too many escape avenues unless you can provide empirical evidence which you don't have.

I am not trying to box him. People do hate China just for being communist and there are people who do for other reasons. But to suggest no one hates China only for other than being communist is simply not true. But I do concede about the tribal thing that he wrote. I had not read it well.

I am sure that there are people who dislike China because it is communist but I think Doom breed was making a more inclusive statement. In essence both of you guys are on the same path just that the weightings are differently applied but by nature we are all different and so the outlook will never be identical. In short, I don't think the difference in view is so wide that it cannot be reconciled.

Argh yes... The greater influence than tribal affiliation. The Common Enemy. It had made many strange bed fellows through out history. But alas. It's only temporary.
.

That common enemy is the US when it comes to Jihadist war. Remember this a war of not just national interests but of a religious one in their beliefs. It's a Christian/ Judaism vs. Muslim conflict first before it is a national one.

I've always maintained, that if you want to see a true brotherhood of man. If you want to see a sunni suicide bomber charging at the enemy while being covered by suppressive fire from American soldiers, while wearing a mass produced Chinese suicide vest with the latest Russian explosives.

What about a made in American commercial plane pilot by a suicide bomber slamming into an American building?
