Chinese Aviation Industry

Also, I was reminded of our conversation earlier about innovation in chemical industry. This is exactly what I meant when I said that China is still behind, though progressing. There's no Huawei, DJI, BYD in the Chinese Chemical industry, and by that I mean a company hell bent on excellence and dominance. You need to find some wolf warriors from Huawei and let them loose in the chemical industry, or bring some chemical engineers and let them experience the Huawei culture.
That’s not how the chemical industry works dude. Everything that gets created in chemicals is eventually commoditized and your advantage is in figuring out large scale production cost efficiencies. A lot of this in turn is about large scale batch quality control methods. The innovation dynamics are completely different. Please stop thinking about industrial competition based on superficial hype and imaginary power levels.

On October 11, in Wuhu Aviation Industrial Park, the world's first 6-ton tilt-rotor aircraft rolled off the assembly line in the Wuhu United Aircraft Production Workshop. This tilt-rotor aircraft, code-named Lanying R6000, is the world's most advanced aviation-grade drone.

It supports unmanned and manned flights, and can achieve international-level long-distance point-to-point flights. Lanying R6000 has a maximum take-off weight of 6 tons and a maximum commercial load weight of 2 tons. It can carry up to 10 passengers, has a maximum range of 4,000 kilometers, a maximum cruising speed of 550 kilometers per hour, and a maximum cruising altitude of 7,620 meters.

The CJ-500 introduction would be an obvious opportunity. But that will be a long time away.
what's the point of mentioning an engine that doesn't exist?

What is the size of RJ market going forward and what's the business case for developing an all new engine for that market?

yeah. ARJ-21 has limited market even in mainland. so developing a totally brand new engine is not feasible economically. CJ-500 appeared in many research papers in past but things never materialize.
