This is a big deal. The JF-22 ultra-high-speed wind tunnel will be completed in 2022. The JF-22 can simulate altitudes of 40 to 100 kilometers. The max flow speed is 10km/sec, equivalent to 30 times the speed of sound. It will be a crucial piece of infrastructure for China's missile and space programs as well as for developing hypersonic vehicles.

The JF-22 hypersonic wind tunnel has officially passed the acceptance test. The JF-22 can simulate altitudes of 40 to 100 kilometers. The max flow speed is 10km/sec, equivalent to 30 times the speed of sound. It's a crucial piece of infrastructure for China's missile and space programs as well as for developing hypersonic vehicles.

Shenyang finally starts making bidding on their new factory.

Machine translation:

Project scale: Each comprehensive assembly plant of this project is about 750 meters long, 290 meters wide, the lower chord elevation of the plant is about 16 meters, the maximum span of the plant is about 98 meters, and the total construction area is about 280,450 square meters.

Total project investment: about 190,000,000 RMB

Duration requirements: total duration: 741 calendar days (in the construction period, the day of the start is not counted, from the next day, the deadline of the last day of the period is 24:00 hours of the day), of which the design duration is 45 calendar days, construction duration: 696 calendar days. Planned start date: June 20, 2023 (subject to the actual start order), planned to have process equipment installation conditions by March 1, 2025, and the planned completion date is June 30, 2025.

In terms of single-story and double-story building land area and building area.

Maximum span 98m, width 290m length 750m, if three assembly plants are built in a row, the total length of them would be more than 2km.

Landarea 210k sqm Building area of 280k sqm.

Regardless of the workshop span, the overall length of the production line, height, floor space, it is almost the same as the f35 one, which was planned a few years ago for an assembly plant in Shenyang New District.

I didn't expected it to be this big.

2nd ARJ-21 about to be delivered to TransNusa. Imo, these deliveries are still going a little slow. COMAC needs to show it can actually ramp up production. C919 ramp up schedule is quite ambitious

Most of the planes made in Tianjin since its opening in 2008 have gone to Chinese airlines feeding the country’s dramatic expansion of air travel. The plant has occasionally built aircraft for carriers such as Malaysia’s

to be fair, final assembly represent very low % of the value add on A321NEO. It's just a case where A321 series delays are out of control and the EU airlines need the deliveries sooner.

Until the local A320NEO aircraft start using a lot more Chinese components, this is not that meaningful

How is that any different from an Airbus or Boeing plane assembled anywhere else in the world. I mean it is highly unlikely for the Airbuses being assembled in Toulouse to use all French parts.
