Another great news for COMAC is the massive losses of expertise at my current company. Nearly 2/3 of all the offices at BCA's design and development center is now empty !! Entire HR department, finance department gone forever !!

Could be a golden mine. COMAC should do its best to recruit them. China needs heap tonnes of talents like these people to work on China's own indigenous civilian jetliners. That means better pay, better bonuses, better treatments should be on the cards if COMAC wants to attract these talents over to their side.

However, please, please, please - DON'T EVER bring McDonnell Douglas' spirit and style over to COMAC. That's all I'm asking for.

Not sure BCA losing its HR department is a particular boon for COMAC. It probably means BCA productivity will go through the roof!

How do you guys view Putin's orders for new domestically produced airliners?
240 units of the MC-21-310, 114 of the SSJ-NEW, 70 of the Il-114-300, 70 of the Tu-214, and 12 of the Il-96
Are they likely able to replace western components? Is it possible to temporarily replace western components with russian components in a pinch if COMAC gets sanctioned?

however it is an interesting question and a possibility that is by no means impossible, on which to discuss and know how users think if the Chinese aeronautical industry could in a short period of time replace imports in the construction of commercial aircraft

interesting article.

That Boeing would lose hundreds of its most experienced local engineers this year became inevitable.

Boeing’s white-collar union said more than 500 highly experienced U.S. engineers and more than 130 technical staff retired in November.

Last month, hundreds of very experienced Seattle-area Boeing engineers walked out the door.

COMAC would definitely love to hire skilled engineers. this is indeed a golden opportunity to get those people. lets see

@ACuriousPLAFan what you say bro .. China is now fully opened for the world.

If they are retiring, then they are not going to come to China. I don't think people really understand what's going at Boeing. They recently just announced that they will have no new program for many years, which is going to cause a giant exodus of engineers and staffing, This has been an issue since start of COVID when the entire airlines industry had to cut back on expenses and encouraged people to retire.

Long term, Boeing will probably go over 20 years without a new program. The people they designed 787 will be all gone by the time they get to their next all new design. 77X and MAX are not the same thing as designing a whole new aircraft. So, there will be some lost of engineering talent. We will see if Airbus and COMAC can capitalize on that. The main winner here is Airbus since they can just build their market share. But it's great news for COMAC too. Anytime the industry leaders are not moving forward, it gives COMAC more time to catch up.
