China's transport, tanker & heavy lift aircraft

therewere alot of technical risks that A-70s did not answer.

first and foremost engine out ops at lowspeed.
I know little about An-70, but that it seems to me a beautiful aircraft. Four engined aircraft are nearly always tricky at the low speed engine out condition, except when pairs of engines drive co-axial propellers. But Antonov has experience with these since the An-10 of the late '50's, so what would be the problem here? The engines are an strong as those of An-22, but the propellers are much smaller, so are nearer to the aircraft center line.

Probably Antonov is greedy too like the Russian? They know Chinese IL-76 deal with Russia is going to collasped. They know Chinese has no one to turn too. Chinese usually never give in when threateh. Even until now, the 38 IL-76 deal is not progressing anymore.

AN-70 is not likely ever to progress beyond prototype state, because the funding simply is not there. The Ukraine does not have the money, and Russia is putting her money into IL-476.

well there is pretty good chance China has had a good close look at the An-70 for thier own development of the Y-20, i think the An-70 could carry 4 ZLC-2000 airborne tanks or a single main battle tank, so i guess Y-20 will either meet that requirment or surely exceed it

if it is going to be right up there with the C17 Globemaster, then it will have to exceed lift capacity of 70 ton!!

btw is it true that An-225 can lift 250 tons?

Yes, AN-225 Mriya was built to lift the Buran space shuttle (abandoned after the break-up of the Soviet Union). I am not sure that there is more than one AN-225 in service.

Yes, only one AN-225 Mriya was built to transport the Buran space shuttle. Buran was as large as the US space shuttle, but didn't carry the main engines, so was somewhat lighter. Around 70 tons, IIRC. But without Buran it was indeed reported to be able to carry 250 tons, 100 tons more than the An-124.

Not XAC (Xian Aircraft Company) in Xian, it is Shaanxi Aircraft Company to build Y-9 in Hanzhong where is in the middle of mountains in Shaanxi.

Shaanxi AC is located here: 33 09 06 N 107 12 03 E.

Completed aircraft are parked here: 33 08 09 N 107 12 03 E.
