The underlined portion says China already has mastered the technologies behind refueling booms, and produced a technology demonstrator using a converted civilian freighter. Y-20 is also mentioned.

Where is this paper from? A book? A magazine? Anyone can bullshit something and print it out, claiming it's a leaked document of legitimate source.

I agree, it doesn't look legit because it mentioned that it was tested on the Tu204 CETF bought, the myth about it with boom has already been busted.

since we are already operating ZDK-03 i think it wouldnt be a bad idea to purchase more Y-9 aircraft from China

there is a requirment for Pakistan to be able to deploy troops and equipment to various locations inside Pakistan and outiside therefore adding a fleet of Y-9 aircraft would be very useful

currently Pakistan has
15 x C130s
1 x C130 L-100-20
4 x IL-78 which double up as cargo transporters as well are aerial refuelers
4 CASA CN-235

enough to probably transport a large battalion of troops outside the country or inside

adding a fleet of 10-16 Y-9s would allow Pakistan to establish another transport hub in the south of the country, currently we operate Number 35 (composite air transport) Wing at Chaklala near Rawalpindi, which is not very strategically located for transport throughout Pakistan

that doesnt look as big as the C17 Globemaster? I always thought Y-20 was to be same as C17 and Y-9 was C130J?

Y-20 will be slightly smaller than C-17, slightly bigger than Il-76. That is a fan drawing. Looks like someone upsized An-70 and added jets instead.

In fact, the fanart drawing of Y-20 is much smaller than IL-76. Just look at the cockpit and pilot inside and you know which one is bigger....
