see that's the thing why settling this isn't a huge deal for China now. Oil prospect in SCS isn't that important anymore in wake of all the renewable energy boom. Right now, #1 energy source for China in SCS is offshore wind. They are going to build many of these farms.

Sir without the Chinese participation, there will be NO OIL DRILLING in the area, just ask the Vietnamese. The Chinese had map out where the gas and oil reserves are located and yet they don't drill for oil and exploit it, the reason They will use it as an economic and diplomatic initiative, sharing the oil are more sustainable as participating parties will likely work together and make it successful, everybody benefit a win win for all side.

I agree. As today matter, Indonesian 2024 presidential election is more important to China. Right now Jokowi already give a lot of nerve to the west with his nickel export ban, etc. If the next Indonesian president is similar to Marcos it will be a great fall back to Indonesia and her relation with Chinq
