@ansy1968 what's your angle on the Asian Century Philippines Strategic Studies Institute (ACPSSI) and its president Herman Tiu Laurel?

This think tank seems China Friendly, is Chinese investments in Philippines finally paying off? What other (big) orgs are China friendly in Philippines?

It's one of the anti yellow organization, He came from a prominent Laurel clan
Were they help Cory Aquino gain power in 1986 EDSA revolution instead of being grateful The Aquino's family ostracized them and gain power for themselves with the help of the American. So you can see his biases and you can't blame him, he personally experience the so called American democracy and see the hypocrisy of it all.

Thanks for the great analysis man. Not all hope is lost in the Philippines, though this Herman Tiu Laurel is certainly of Chinese descent.

A China Coast Guard spokesperson said a Philippine Navy gunboat intruded into the waters adjacent to China's Huangyan Island on Tuesday, disregarding repeated warnings. China Coast Guard vessels took necessary measures, such as tracking and controlling the ship's route, to drive away the Philippine vessel after multiple verbal warnings were ineffective. The on-site operations were professional, standardized, and lawful.

China: ??? Does Philippine really want to escalate now?

What's Philippine's strategy here? Does Marcos really need domestic support or something?

This article (by Japanese in US) undertakes a legal assessment of the vessels and operations conducted by the Chinese maritime militia, employing a law enforcement perspective as the analytical lens. During peacetime, those vessels engage in fishing and low-intensity military activities but in armed conflict transition to tasks like reconnaissance. Notably, these maritime militias are frequently deployed in what is commonly termed as "gray zone" scenarios, which lack a clearly defined designation as either peacetime or contingency situations. Their principal objective lies in asserting territorial claims without resorting to full-scale armed conflict. This article delves into an exploration of the legal status accorded to these vessels, examining whether they are entitled to the sovereign immunity afforded to warships or ships operated by a State for non-commercial purposes under international law.
