Marcos is feeling the heat, remember Duterte last trip to Beijing when he talk with Xi were he was bestowed as a good friend of the Chinese people. That kind of praise are only reserved for great stateman, so what topic do they discuss?

My speculation is that Xi remind Duterte of his legacy, patriotism and his belief in Socialism. He is a socialist at heart and he will return as an elder stateman in 2024 election campaigning against Marcos, his family and oligarch cronies.
lets hope so for Philipine sake

Considering that Duterte's daughter is Marcos' VP, that would be quite the family feud.
Marcos can't win without Sarah Duterte especially IF she run as a presidential candidate, she slide to VP because she knows she hasn't have the experience. BUT this incrimination will only solidify her base, I for one will support her because she is a Duterte. Her father legacy is imprinted in our national psychic that love for country is our utmost duty not that of the oligarchy masquerading as nationalist.

Probe pushed into PCG 'removal' of barrier in Scarborough Shoal

A Manila-based think tank called for an investigation into the "moro-moro" supposedly instigated by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) when it claimed that it "successfully removed" the floating barrier installed by their Chinese counterparts at the entrance of Bajo de Masinloc (Scarborough Shoal).
In a media briefing on Saturday in Quezon City, Asian Century Philippines Strategic Studies Institute (ACPSSI) president Herman Tiu Laurel echoed a declaration by the CCG that the claim by Commodore Jay Tarriela, PCG spokesman on the West Philippine Sea, was "fictitious," and "fabricated."

On Saturday, the PCG admitted that it was not able to remove the entire floating barrier installed by the CCG but it was only its anchor that it was able to cut and retrieve.

Tarriela said they will use the anchor as evidence should the Philippine government decide to file charges against China for its activities in the West Philippine Sea.

Like I suspected, the Philippine Coast Guard probably cut the anchor at the end of the China's floating barrier at the entrance of HuangYan island.

The barrier is suspended between two ships. Did they move those too?

It's funny how people treat the Indian Galwan claims with natural suspicion but when the Philippines make a video, it is automatically legit.

I don't think any of us believed the Philippine's story of moving the barrier, but there were some who thought the Philippines cut the anchor rope of their own barrier and not China's barrier.

Not a big deal practically, but kind of a big deal symbolically.
It is a big deal, cause Marcos is caught lying, we hold our president in high regards because of Duterte, now it had join the clown world , he need to employ a new script writer cause the current plot is getting boring.

@ansy1968 what's your angle on the Asian Century Philippines Strategic Studies Institute (ACPSSI) and its president Herman Tiu Laurel?

This think tank seems China Friendly, is Chinese investments in Philippines finally paying off? What other (big) orgs are China friendly in Philippines?

According to Chinese reports, the CCG put up the barrier at the mouth of the lagoon at Huangyan island on 9/22 and retracted the barrier on 9/23 . The Philippines claim they cut down the barrier on 9/25, two days after the barrier at Huangyan island was already removed by the CCG. This is why the Chinese MFA spokesman called the Philippines video a self directed farce.

CCG can put up and retract the barrier anytime, it has happened many times before. The CCG probably put up the barrier again on the 25th, or the Philippines lied about the date.

The MFA's statement gives enough leeway for both sides to step down, the self directed farce part could mean they didn't really remove the barrier, just damaged it.
