Towards the end of the video the fisherman was asked (probably embedded Filipino reporters/Propagandists) If he (Fisherman) wasn't intimidated/afraid of the Chinese/PLA presence and actions. He responded: Nope, I wasn't scared at all; I was just laughing at them throughout the whole time.
Scare of what? He knows the Chinese will not harm him.

The Philippines has been emboldened with the recent public and maybe even private assurances from their benefactor (U.S.) and treaty ally along with the recently announced 5 U.S. military bases. The possible addition of more military installations to challenge, provoke, and goad China to react in such a lopsided violent manner in order to garner INTERNATIONAL OUTCRY AND ULTIMATELY, SUPPORT for the Philippines which would validate the U.S. invented narrative of CHINA'S BULLYING AND EXPANSIONIST AMBITIONS IN Its periphery, then the world.

The 2012 Scarborough Shoal example of China’s resolve should have already taught you a valuable lesson as well as the strategic calculus that animates the leaders in Beijing. The more inference that Beijing is just being pushed around by a two bit country is just utter bullocks and hubristic nonsense coming from you.

What would you have the country do? Commit a violent confrontation with all the INTERNATIONAL PROPAGANDA OUTLETS (on their side always ever on the ready to twist the most innocuous and innocent actions of China as evil, genocidal etc.) that would possibly place China in a tight spot thereby severely damaging its own credibility in the eyes of the global south in terms of how China handles disputes. I am not sure if you know or care to know that China had just recently published a 25 page white paper espousing the message of a world with shared future. To quote some of the passages of the paper:

"It is increasingly obvious that the obsession with superior strength, and the zero-sum mentality are in conflict with the needs of our times, the white paper said, pointing out that the new era calls for new ideas.

To build a global community of shared future is to pursue openness, inclusiveness, mutual benefit, equity and justice, the white paper said. The goal is not to replace one system or civilization with another. Instead, it is about countries with different social systems, ideologies, histories, shared rights, and shared responsibilities in global affairs."

The White paper may sound high minded b.s. to many hyper-nationalists like you, but not to many reasonable people in China and around the world, including the Philippines.

The SCS situation with the Philippines is a test of will and patience not to mention of China’s ability to resolve disputes that seeks to avoid the typical recipes that's been tried and tested many times over by the west. If China fails on this regard, by aping it's strategic enemy, the U.S. in both style and substance, China may as well drop its pretenses of becoming a different super power since she'll be the same as the old master with different strokes.
Shared future for mankind is one thing, defending national sovereignty in contested areas is another, especially when they keep making more and more provocative and brazen challenges, one after the other. pH is gonna get sacrificed once they step over that red line and cut some underwater military communications lines or something.

China needs to do it's own propaganda and put it's own news crew on board, showing pH as aggressors, translate into English, Tagalog, Spanish, everything.. China has the money and means to defend itself in information war that pH and usa started.

Im sure China records everything already anyway, just like they only released the footage of Indian border clash later on to save the Indians from embarrassment. But they need to make it like a high quality exciting documentary. China needs to up its "media relations" game. Not just press briefing and questions from foreign ministry spokesman but China needs to expand and push it's soft power on all fronts.

Bro an effective propaganda should be based on truth, these noises are purely projection, it may landed in our oligarchy control MSM but nobody cares, it is a recurring theme and we have enough of it. Seriously its being going on for the past 9 years, we being bombarded and had become numb, so who's the target audience surely not us then who?

The reality on the ground, this news is from a Oligarch control MSM (meaning Manny Pangilinan who had a stake in exploring the SCS for oil), there is a realization that Uncle Sam can't back their words with deeds after the US Congress VOTED DOWN Ukraine request for further aid.

This news is nothing new like I said before since 2012, the CCG maintain their presence by deploying a vessel inside and another one at the mouth of the lagoon.

Note that they didn't say that there is a vessel inside the lagoon, that statement indicates a toning down of rhetoric as the realization that Chinese determination set in.

‘Chinese Boats Block Phl Fishers In Panatag’

The presence of Chinese vessels in Panatag Shoal further intensified in recent years, according to the Bigkis ng mga Mangingisda Federation in Masinloc, Zambales.
‘Chinese Boats Block Phl Fishers In Panatag’

In this Feb. 27, 2015 photo provided by fisherman Renato Etac via the Associated Press, Chinese Coast Guard members approach other Filipino fishermen near Panatag (Scarborough) Shoal in the West Philippine Sea.
The China Coast Guard has deployed rubber boats around Panatag (Scarborough) Shoal to prevent Filipino fisherfolk from entering the lagoon, a fishers’ group said on Sunday, Oct. 1.
The presence of Chinese vessels in Panatag further intensified in recent years, the Bigkis ng mga Mangingisda Federation in Masinloc, Zambales added.

“The Chinese coast guard is on standby outside, but the Chinese rubber boats are patrolling the area and preventing Filipino fishermen from entering the lagoon,” the group’s spokesman Henrelito Empoc said in an interview over radio dzBB.
Empoc noted that the Chinese rubber boats tail the Filipino fishermen once they try to enter the lagoon.
“The Chinese fishing vessels are free to fish in the lagoon. We can prove to our authorities that the harassment of the Chinese coast guard has increased in the last months,” he said.

Empoc called on the Philippine Navy and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to assist Filipino fishermen in Panatag.

“The Filipino fishermen will be happy if that happens. There were times when foreign vessels entered our exclusive economic zone. They are near 80 nautical miles. We know that the foreign vessels have no right to enter water owned by the Philippines,” he said.
The revenues of fisherfolk have declined by 70 percent due to the limited access to fishing grounds, Empoc noted.

“Before the pandemic, the Chinese already dropped floating barriers, although they were removed because of the strong waves,” he claimed.
The PCG has vowed to “do whatever it takes” to remove any more floating barriers installed by China in the South China Sea.

The floating barrier was found across the entrance to the shoal last week during a routine Philippine government resupply mission to Filipino fishermen.
Coast Guard personnel cut a rope tethering the barrier to an anchor, allowing it to drift.
President Marcos earlier said that his government was “not looking for trouble” but he insisted it would “continue to defend the Philippines, the maritime territory of the Philippines, the rights of our fishermen to ply their trade in the areas where they have been fishing for hundreds of years.”
‘Empire of lies’

The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Sept. 30 called the United States an “empire of lies” after the US Department of State released a report alleging that Beijing spent billions of dollars annually for propaganda and disinformation to manipulate foreign information.

The report revealed that China invested billions in false information to promote positive views of China and the Chinese Communist Party.
“The PRC (People’s Republic of China) seeks to cultivate and uphold a global incentive structure that encourages foreign governments, elites, journalists and civil society to accept its preferred narratives and avoid criticizing its conduct,” the report stated.

“Some in the US may think that they can prevail in the information war as long as they produce enough lies. But the people of the world are not blind,” China’s foreign ministry said.

@ansy1968 the ongoing attack against the PH VP Duterte is just part and parcel of implementing porcupine political attacks, on the hope that such tactics will wittle out her political viability, and electability, in the forthcoming Philippine presidential elections, even if it's 4 years away.

The politics in the PH are full of opportunistic leeches and chameleons that are always on the ready to change their colors and affiliations if that said issue, candidates, events will keep them in power = gravy corruption $$.

Marcos is feeling the heat, remember Duterte last trip to Beijing when he talk with Xi were he was bestowed as a good friend of the Chinese people. That kind of praise are only reserved for great stateman, so what topic do they discuss?

My speculation is that Xi remind Duterte of his legacy, patriotism and his belief in Socialism. He is a socialist at heart and he will return as an elder stateman in 2024 election campaigning against Marcos, his family and oligarch cronies.
