China's SCS Strategy Thread

Not unless Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao is going to allow and ally himself with the opposition that's really desperate to dislodge, damage, and disrupt the candidate of choice by Pres.Duterte. The Philippine opposition if they are wise and not so idiotic and elitist would at least try to coalesce to someone like Manny because the man embodies the quintessential qualities most Filipinos can relate to: hardwork, poor background, religiosity, filial, respectful towards his enemies etc. In other words a man's man or "macho persona" that's polar opposite to the brand Duterte's version of macho.

In my opinion it'll be an easier sell for the opposition to have Manny as their face or one of their credible choice because most of the traditional politicians in the Philippines are suffering from a perception of insincerity and fakeness. Deficient qualities that Manny doesn't suffer from and regardless of how one perceives Manny's fitness for the office, most people regard him as an upright citizen and that most Filipinos are proud of and that itself can come along way in helping him cement or establish a potential potent force or play in the upcoming election, not to mention he'll be an easy prey to be used and manipulated by the American interests.
@voyager1 This coming election I foresee the demise of the Liberal Party (the political party of the Aquino family and the oligarchs). If you read my previous post, the American will be intervening in this coming Presidential election and the opposition will want some of the money Washington will provide. The oligarch is cash strapped due to the pandemic, they will spend but in small amount and to whom? they don't have any viable candidates, look at their line up for the President , VP and Senatorial candidate, they are mostly disgrace former Aquino official and TRAPO (traditional politician) and their chances of winning is nil, their political platform is a rehash of the past which the Filipino voters rejected. And I think the US will fund multiple candidates to ensure their bets win either thru a slim vote victory or cheating with the help of Smartmatic, the vote counting provider.

Duterte should find a way to clean up the media
@voyager1 He did with the closure of one of the biggest media outlet ABS CBN which owned ANC with the non renewal of its franchise.
However from what I know this is Hist last term on office, do you know who might be most likely person to become president after him?
I dont think any non-US slave can become president as we call all see that the media and the CIA is getting ready with their media hitjobs.
Honestly I don't know, Duterte is keeping his card close to his chest. He is an astute politician , he may use his clout to push his political agenda, to make major reforms and not become a lame duck president.

May be related to the SCS. Since Taiwan share some portion of the SCS region. And this is definitely related to US operations in the SCS.

How true is this? I find it hard to believe since the Taiwan Straits is heavily patrolled by the PLAAF and the PLAN. Chinese jets would surely be able to pickup and buzz that US plane off. Plus the Chinese Foreign Ministry would surely be making lots of noises over this.

I would imagine that the PLAAF would send in units to intercept it just like how the Russians do. Or perhaps China can lure the aircraft into a trap to force it to land in Chinese territory like what happened in 2001.

Meanwhile the US is seizing the opportunity to mount another pr attack against China on its ongoing dispute with PH in the spratlys

The five eyes along with the EU are like a bunch of rabid hyenas barking on China whenever they have the chance.

It looks like pressure is building up to force Duterte to seize the remaining unoccupied shoals in the Spratlys region.

At 8:40, they are suggesting to ground ships into shoals to serve as outposts like what the PH did in the second Thomas shoal (Rén'ài Jiāo).

China will need to act quickly to secure its interests in the region because other players are being pressured to take aggressive actions on behalf of China's real enemies (US and its lackeys)

Vietnam is also barking right now.
IMO, the US has signalled that this time they have their back and so they are free to do whatever they want as they will have the US covering them

I'm not sure if this is too OT, but won't rising sea levels render a lot of these SCS bases unusable? Even the big islands are barely above the waterline

China needs these bases for now when the sea rises in 2050 I dont think China will have such a need for them.
If China in 2050 still needs these small islands to project force then it is already game over for it.

Ideally, China in 2050 should be touring around the world like the US

Two Neocon/Neolib Regime propagandists interview Regime Admiral about his book 2034 (A Coming War with China):

It is interesting and disturbing to note that these people effectively project the Neocon/Neolib US' own bad behavior onto China, essentially believing their own misconceptions and propaganda. I have my serious doubts that these people will ever lose their 20th Century Cold War mentality and zero-sum game attitude. China is unwilling to become another US vassal state and the US is unwilling to tolerate any nation as its peer. Neither side will budge. China and the rest of the real free (sovereign) world might need to get ready for a rough ride.

According to GT the visit by Defense Minister Wei is related to the South China Seas issue.
China wants to engage in joint military drills with them in view of the planned deployment of French, Germany and UK warships to SCS.
