Prabowo made China his first foreign visit when he became President-Elect.
Yes, Indonesia has banned/tariffed some Chinese products but it has done the same for US. Basically Prabowo is a protectionist who wants to develop Indonesia's domestic industry.
On defense, I remember him saying in the last Singapore security summit that regional disputes need to be resolved by regional countries, not outside powers. All in all, he is welcome news to China, I think.
