In response to Japan's statement on the South China Sea arbitration case, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "By this standard, many of Japan's other islands and reefs would also lose their basis for claiming maritime rights. Since Japan has issued a statement supporting the content of the 'ruling,' China has reason to believe that Japan has voluntarily relinquished its corresponding maritime claims in accordance with the same standard."

Should have done one better and said Japan is consist of only 4 islands. All other islands belong to the winners of WW2. Then immediately announce China will build a giant military base on Chinese controlled Awaji island

Funny how in this "10th Anniversary Joint Statement" on the kangaroo court's "tribunal award", none of the ASEAN member states apart from the Jai Pagpags are involved, despite some of them being directly involved in the SCS disputes.

Slovenia is basically there because it tried to pull the same stunt vis-a-vis it's maritime border with Croatia, set up a kangaroo court and pretend it's ruling is final, even though Croatia refused to take part (after Slovenia was caught trying to influence the judges).

Which is also why Croatia refused to support and thus sabotaged a joint EU declaration supporting the Phillipine case.
