Latest news between the new revised mutually agreed agreement between China and the PH. F.M. and State Councilor Wang Yi strongly stressed that the PH must adhere to it's commitment and not reneged on the commitment as it warned the PH of a grave consequence if it creates or show a sign of mischief.

US to send $500 mln military "Aid" to PH, perhaps bribe money to keep its military generals in line with NATO directives

Meanwhile, the PH continues to build its narratives about how its fishermen are "Harassed" by the Chinese in the SCS

Foreign Secretary Manalo says the Philippines is exchanging information with China about the resupply missions, and that China cannot veto them.

I guess this is how they give prior notice without formally agreeing to give prior notice. By pretending the CCG veto is a matter of words instead of force.

The burden of having to act rationally is quite a burden in such a context. China should have learnt to chill out, stay totally quiet for a window period of say 6 months, and just let the pinoys test the water, seeing no reaction and continue to tune up the supplies or what not. After said period, go all out and bomb every single ships under pinoys, official PLA navy ships over the reef or shoal. No talk, no debate, no negotiations. None of those worked for the past 2 decades, with pinoys now being officially exploited as a pupper player, it is wishful thinking even more.

To act rationally and having to explain yourself is a useless, costly tactic in face of the threat of anglo saxxon and their zombie logic. 先礼后兵 applies only to parties that can respect mutual interest and understand principal. Anglo powers only understand brute strength.

You talk about Philippines here when they are entirely irrelevant to this situation. The only party that matters here from the opposing side is the US.

Is China ready and willing to go to war with US right now?

If Blinky is talking about the PERA Act, it has not been moving since April 2024 lmao

And if the US stumbles into another quagmire courtesy of its "greatest ally", perpetually stupid Amboys should brace for disappointment

Hurray!!!! Finally we will have a refurbished, expensive surplus military equipment, a long dream of having a F16 since the early 2000, for the amount of $500 million we will be having 5 20 year old aircraft and the Chinese are shaking in fear... Lol

Ouch. $100 million USD is about the price of the F-35.
If its the latest F16 BLOCK 70/72 with AESA then it worth the amount BUT if a surplus second hand then we're screwed, we don't know which variant will be given, it cost a lot to refurbished and maintain a second hand surplus aircraft.

And by the way I see a lot of money changing hands, we are talking about huge amount of kickbacks for the 2025 election.

According to sources familiar with the Philippine Air Force's plans to procure used F-16s from 3rd party countries, the announced offer for 24 Danish F-16AM/BM MLU Falcon fighters to Argentina is quite similar to the offer made to the Philippines.
24 units were offered although final numbers will be up to the Philippines, with some sources saying the PAF was actually looking at 28 units. The sale will be administered by the US Department of Defense and multi-year financing was also offered which would allow the DND and DBM to just release a small amount that it won't break the bank.
Additional costs will go for the acquisition of munitions, which in the Philippines' case would involve AIM-9X Sidewinders and AIM-120C7 AMRAAM similar to the offer made on new F-16 Block 70 Vipers, and most probably also for AGM-65G2 Maverick air-to-ground missiles and AGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missiles.
The deal also includes spare parts which would be provided as part of US Foreign Military Financing, as well as training of PAF personnel.
It was also noted to us that this offer was far cheaper than Israel's offer to sell the F-16C/D Barak 2020 which is more than double the price. But what the Israelis were assuring is that the Barak 2020s are more capable and longer airframe life left than the Danish F-16AM/BM MLU Falcons.
The deal will be separate from the ongoing Multirole Fighter Acquisition Project which is now in contention between the F-16 Block 70 Viper, JAS-39 Gripen E, and others, as well as its own munitions component
In the end, its all tied up to waiting for the finalization of the new Government Procurement Law which not only speeds up procurement process but will also allow the acquisition of used but modern assets as long as it meets the law's parameters in terms of useable lifespan left.

And also PAF is known as more AIR than FORCE, some describe them as hanger queen, from its history the only successful aircraft we had are the F5A, the worst is F8 crusaders, we received 25 aircraft via FMS which we pay with proceeds coming from US bases rentals

In 1965, the fighter squadrons were equipped with the PAF's first supersonic fighters, US-made F-5A's, which were also based at Basa AB. These aircraft were the mainstay fighters of the Philippine Air Force until 1978, when the country received 25 F-8 Crusaders, which were much larger and more complex than the F-5's. The F-8 fleet was also stationed at Basa AB. The planes quickly became too expensive and difficult to maintain owing to their age and complexity and that. The continued presence of the United States military and lack of any immediate hostile air forces also contributed to discussions on retiring the fleet. The aircraft were permanently grounded in 1988 and kept in storage at Basa AB.

During the December 1989 coup attempt, Basa AB remained in the hands of pro-government forces, and on the first day of fighting (December 1), a squadron of F-5A's from the 5th Fighter Group took off from Basa and strafed the rebel-held Sangley Point AB, destroying several planes and seriously damaging the coup plotters' air capabilities. The following day, F-5A's took off from Basa AB and struck rebel ground troops and vehicles at Camp Aguinaldo. The coup attempt dissolved on the third day.

Jul 26, 1988 — The United States now pays about $180 million a year for the use of Clark Air Base, Subic Bay Naval Base and four smaller installations. Foreign Secretary Raul Manglapus, who leads the Philippine negotiators, has called $1.2 billion “more realistic.”.
