We've seen satellite images before but it was unclear what were they used for. Now you see guys with what looks like model aircraft. Interesting that a person walking through at eye level could probably simulate an aircaft flying through.

Re: Chinese Military News Thread

Anybody else find this terribly ironic, since China has long been supplying Israel's avowed enemies like Iran, Iraq, Hezbollah with anti-ship missiles and other arms that have caused considerable damage to Israeli warships.

And the other side of the coin is how Israel supplies China's rival India with all sorts of arms...

All in all a remarkable relationship between the two countries.

All the more surprising in the light of the great cordiality in their mutual relationship, maybe this can be a template for US-China relations - military sales rivals, but not enemies.

China never supply Hezbollah but it was through Iran arsenal that they obtain Chinese weapon. As for Iran, China do not want to heavily depend on Russia and Saudi for fossil fuel. Having Iran as a third major oil supply alternative is important. China therefore needs to maintain this kind of partnership through some cooperation. Its all about strategic interest.

As for Israel supply arms to India, Israel is a free country. China has never stop any country from supplying any weapon to another country.

There is no geo-political reason to ally with Israel even if China wanted to. So long as the U.S. meddles with Israeli-Chinese relations, Israel is complicit to U.S. interests over China's (as seen with Phalcon transaction), there is no reason to pursue any meaningful relationship. In fact being close with Israel would most likely be a detriment as US/Middle East relations has shown, forcing you to chose between Palestine and Israel. Also China is neighboring a Muslim nation (Pakistan) & having substantial numbers of muslims in China is not beneficial introduce more tension as Israel usually draws, they also tend to be supplying Oil & other natural resources like not just Iran as 3rd supplier but Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Iraq and parts of Africa.

There is no geo-political reason for China to cut all bilateral trade to Israel either, Pakistan didn't bother.
so what if China misses the phalcon ? there are more other business, not just weapon system...

Pakistan has no relations with Israel whatsoever. It would be counter to our national interest to do so. If Israel is willing to make peace with its neighbors and agree to co-exist with Arabs, then it would be another thing. Pakistan does not wish to annoy the Arab leaders as well as ordinary people. Foreign exchange remittances from Pakistanis working in GCC Arab countries are very important to Pakistan's economy. Sometimes leaders have tested public reaction in Pakistan and have always backed away from establishing relations with Israel.

In any case how China conducts its foreign policy is according to China's own national interest. Pakistan has little to do with Sino-Israeli relations.

I never said isolate or impose an embargo on trade with Israel. Allying is one thing cutting all trade is another, are US & China allies? Business is business, returning to the original subject Israel shouldn't be angry about Chinese arms winding up in Iran or other nations, there is no malice only commercial interests.

Israel has a very advance technology to use water efficiently in the desert. China can benefit greatly from that. Imagine, Israel has a very very limited water, but produce high quality of fruits, vegetables and grain, and a lot of them, exported everywhere. Unbelievabl, you would understand and appreciate what I mean if you have been to Israel and see fruit trees grow happily in the middle of desert ..... Really amazing.

1. Allying can only happen if both nation willing to form alliance... its obvious that China need all ally they can get.

2. Returning to the original subject, then you should ask why Israel need China as an ally ?.
