CPC need to use this opportunity to kick out ALL (without exception) the American and British NGOs and media out of China. They can’t just do nothing with all the sanctions on China and then instigating this ‘colour revolution’ attempt. Weak response by the CPC to these foreign-backed protests will only embolden even greater interference in China by these NGOs and media. There has to be consequences to them, the consequences being the closing down of their operations in China.

Man the protests were kinda pathetic. Not gonna lie, I expected something bigger and better after I saw that they were clearly organized (very obvious from the fact they appeared in multiple cities / universities simultaneously and from the telegram leak)

They totally misjudged the situation, thinking that popular internet opinions represented mainstream opinions, not realizing the discontent people are the loudest and Chinese social media have a lot of 1450 wanwanese pretending to be Chinese. In a certain way they fooled themselves into thinking that Chinese public opinion has reached a boiling point against Chinese government and its policies.

Also instead of getting some legitimate covid lockdown grievances across, they decided to immediately make their protests political, with messages like “down with CCP” or “Freedom”, that people don’t relate to.

Anyways, China is relaxing its covid policies in response to some legitimate grievances of the population. Some places don’t require people who plan to only stay at home to test for covid anymore. I think more and more places are going to implement such policies in the future and China is going to return to normal gradually.

Interesting. If what this person says can be verified, that single protest against the CPC is not related to the other big protests against zero-covid. The difference in scale is noticable: less than 200 chanting for a regime change vs. thousands protesting on the streets of various cities.

The fact that foreign journalists, Western media and other anti-China agents seem lazer focused on that small protest is suspicious.

This is why it is important for Chinese media to control the narrative. Western media is trying hard to co-opt the valid criticism of zero-covid and turn it into a call to topple the government.

Chinese English media is too small to control the narrative.

Also, it seems that there may be cockroaches from Hong Kong or Taiwan participating in the “protest”:
