Why is this strange to you? If you want China to be anything more than a sweatshop for foreign brands, you kind of have to give their citizens these luxuries. I don't know of any high income citizens that don't demand these things.
Lol what the hell are you taking about? Because you can access them through private sites and free through VPN. No need to make it a demand. This basically just shows how our of touch these protesters are. Makes me less concerned about the protests overall.

How many high income citizens do you know?

I dont demand that, minor inconveniences...

It could be that she really doesnt like watching movies at home or whatever but its hard to unite a lot of people on the value of going to a movie theatre.

Have you served your country? Life is not all about eating honey and drinking wine, wasting money from mommey....

How can you demand anything if you don't do anything, there is no free lunch, people who haven't had any hardships in life tend to levitate to become the spoiled brat type, point in case all those shanghai lowlifers living of their parents money.

Best case bad education by parents and school leading them to being eternal lowlifers, worst case going protesting (what protest is that anyway?) for your "rights" instead of finding a job.

Seriously those people need a severe attitude check, speak about the army as you will, alteast it breaks those illusions those spoiled brats have.

If China is a giant sweatshop for the west, then what is the west, people spent 1/3 of their salary on energy or something rn because the western leadership is a conglomeration of imbeciles.....

I don't know of any high income citizens that don't demand these things.

Do you even know people? Who in their right minds prefers Cinema instead of streaming? If they are so high income they buy a beamer and make a home cinema and watch the movie with their buddies.

Wipe out all foreign spies (CIA, Consulates) in Shanghai, all oppositions and strip off its special status. Make Shanghai completely being free of foreign influence, once and for all. I use the term bloodshed mainly for foreign agents but surely the purge will involve many hanjian as well.
That's not what they did in Hong Kong and that won't be doable in Shanghai, or any other major Chinese city for that matter.

What's the purpose of making up extreme arguments not based in reality?

(ECNS) -- Earthquake early warning with countdown in seconds and instant seismic intensity reporting in minutes will be realized in key areas across China by the end of 2023, according to the 2022 National Conference on Seismological Science and Technology.
The China Earthquake Administration announced at the conference that an earthquake science experimental field will be built in southwest China, focusing on the construction of the seismic observation network with high temporal and spatial resolution, seismic prediction application and an analysis platform, along with seismic disaster chain observation and an experiment platform.
The experimental field will be dedicated to achieving five scientific goals including medium and long-term prediction, short-term and imminent prediction, earthquake triggering, engineering structure response, and an earthquake disaster chain.
At present, the average time of China’s automatic earthquake reporting is two minutes and China is leading the way in automatic reporting of earthquake parameters in the world, according to the conference.

it looks like the protests are directed more towards western audience than chinese. some of the antics used are very twittery. whether it is the use of blank paper (i have no idea what it means) or the candlelight vigil, they do no resonate with the chinese population. my guess is whoever was directing this behind the scenes went through a leadership change, and some noob came into the position very ill-informed but thinking he had it all figured out, probably looking for a promotion.

on the chinese side, did not see very strong response to these protests. i suspect that they were allowed to happen in the first place was some sort of sting operation (think Cheka's operation trust). either to draw some rats out of the woodwork or to shut down internal voices in favour of lifting covid restrictions.

Yes it is doable. When you cut all ties of the anglo (they will do it themselves anyways given all pressure from their US papa) then the work is already done 99%. Most of the anti-China rhetorics come from the anglo. The Europe is done anyway.
