After reading through the whole discussion clogging up several pages, I am still VERY CONFUSED by the foundations of these discussions:
1. Lids can't open.
2. Water in missiles.
3. Missile fuel for hotpot.

What are the **SOURCES** of these allegations?????o_O PLEASE!!! SOMEONE TELL ME!!!!!

Not sure about the two first, but the last one is based on claims by an allegedly former PLANAF officer (1978 to 1998) named Yao Cheng. Apparently his career ended with 7 years in prison. The story he told Epoch Times in 2019 is somewhat wild, and not too credible (he acquired an old Ka-28 from Laos in 1997, which did not have any old or new). His credibility is IMHO pretty low.

I will say this, anyone who doubts the rocket force can just look at the success of Chinese space sector that uses many of the similar fuel and rocket system and see just how effective they are. When there's massive systemic corruption like we see in Russia, every aspect of their society and capability suffers, like how their military and Roscosmos are degrading hand in hand. It's weird to have a world leading space agency that's basically beating everyone other then SpaceX and say that their military counterpart is hilariously incompetent.

On the other hand, there's clearly something going on with corruption in China with all the recent demotions, arrests and firing. And corruption can destroy nations, so it's good that China is actively doing something about it before she finds herself in an active war cough*Russia*cough. Also, there's a big difference between "isolated incident that happened once 8 years ago and whom the the ones responsible were quickly fired/arrested/punished" and actual systemic widespread corruption and incompetence. Maybe the water rocket did happen, but only a single incident 15 years ago and quickly discovered and the people behind it quickly punished.

That's basically the Western MO. Careful to not tell outright lies that can be directly called out, but twisting the truth alot to paint all of China in as bad a light as possible.

Years ago I remember reading an article from a Western journalist on China accusing the Western media of lying about China. The journalist said it was China's fault for not being transparent. If China allowed Western journalists free reign in China to check the facts themselves and confirm what Beijing says is true, then everyone will be happy. What this guy was doing was admitting the Western media will lie. Why would they need unrestricted access to confirm if something they reported is true? Because they know they made it up in the first place. Absence of information they will fill-in the blanks with whatever that fits their narrative they want to make.

Wouldn't the solid fuel for missiles literally melt the pot given how hot they burn? IMO the hotpot with solid rocket fuel story is filled with holes.

what is more corrupt:

1. a country where many generals are arrested for corruption
2. a country where zero generals are arrested for corruption

This rumor is even more idiotic than the previous 093 sinking in the Taiwan Strait. I suggest that Bloomberg at least consult U.S. military professionals before spreading rumors next time. After all, although the U.S.'s own ballistic missile forces are rampant in drug abuse, promiscuity, and cheating on exams, some basic common sense still exists. If PLA soldiers can use missile fuel to cook hotpot, then their bodies will be more of a deterrent than the weapons they control.LOL

That’s because China made super soldiers using Red DNA injection method.

Asia Times writes about the recent PLARF news.

The US intelligence network in China was virtually destroyed in 2017. The United States or other friendly actors would not have obtained the information about the missiles through their own efforts, so senior Chinese officials could pass the information to American officials as soon as they military contacts were resumed.

Perhaps China wanted to tell the US that leadership of the PLA's missile forces was now secure, that the recent purge was due to corruption rather than attempts by Xi Jinping's internal adversaries to intervene to gain control of China's nuclear missiles.

The water-in-missiles story appears to be Chinese disinformation designed to justify Xi Jinping's purge of China's missile forces and to reassure the United States about the security of China's nuclear weapons control.
