That's Yi Fuxian -- known for believing that China's population is (or was) 1.28b people instead of 1.4b people. He appears to be a bit of a crank with a pet idea he touts whenever given the chance. I would give his theories more consideration if they had broader academic support. For now, it's just some extraordinary claims by a single guy. Worth keeping an eye on I suppose.

That is from the author. I do not agree that the birth rate of last year was exaggerated because it was already extremely low. But his prediction of 6 million if correct where will this end?

If you are Escobar where will this end? That If is doing an awful lot of lifting.

How about entertaining the question when it's actually true instead of making up random speculation to be concerned about?

Of course America wants China overrun by immigrants. Their case will get stronger if China's birth rare continues to collapse. Already South Korea is hinting at mass import of people.

Many Chinese citizens of Korean descents were forced to return to China due to discrimination after years in South Korea. Imagine that for low skills workers that can't speak fluent Korean would face. Both Japan and South Korea are not friendly place towards new immigrants compare with Singapore and Hong Kong.

Many Brazilians of Japanese descents were paid to leave during the Great Recession which is another example of how hard for foreigners even for Japanese descendants face in acceptance in homogeneous societies such as Japan and South Korea. Of course Westerners especially Whites and Americans enjoy certain privileges in Japan and South Korea but that applied to all Asian countries.

As for China, again China has excess labors which mean the argument is flawed to begin with. It is another liberal American NGO professor that advocates for nonsense.
