 1月24日,“中国海监66” 船在广州交付中国海监东海总队。该船是第二期新造海监船中速度最快的船之一,长77.39米,宽10.4米,排水量1290吨,主机最大功率2380马力,双机双桨,双机并车航速大于20节,续航力5000海里,自持力30天,适航无限航区。据悉,东海总队将把该船交付给中国海监第六支队使用,以缓解该支队维权执法船舶少的紧张局面,提升其维权执法能力。
According to this, it was handed over on Jan 24th. It is 77.39 m long, 10.4 m wide, 1290 ton displacement, has maximum power of 2380 hp, twin engine and twin turbine. Can go faster than 20 knots when operating under CODAD. Has range of 5000 nm and endurance of 30 days. It is handed over to the 6th flotilla of East Fleet

I don't quite understand it. I suppose you mean twin screw, not twin turbine. Does CODAD mean that each screw is power by one or two diesel engines, a smaller cruising engine and a larger engine for maximum power?

actually I meant two propellers in the second part for sure. I'm not knowledgeable about naval propulsion, so I'm guessing the two diesel engines drive two propellers through twin shaft configuration?

When you say CODAD it means a propeller is driven by a diesel engine with an other diesel engine clutched on to boost the power in case of need. Similar CODOG means the propeller is driven by a diesel engine until high power is needed when the diesel is clutched out and the gas turbine clutched in.
CODAD is combined diesel and diesel.
CODOG is combined diesel or gas turbine.

Yep, 2 engines and 2 propellers. Doesn't say anything about CODAD though.

For a vessel of that size (1,000+ tons), the norm is to have 1 engine powering 1 propeller. CODAD/CODOG are usually used for larger vessels.

Also, I wouldn't expect Coast Guard or Patrol vessels to need such complex propulsion arrangements.

Haijian-50 is launched in Wuchang shipyard. It is 98 m long, 15.2 m wide and has displacement of 3336 ton. It's maximum speed is 18 knots and can go 8000 nm at this speed. It can stay in the sea for 60 days with one replenishment. It can handle state 12 typhoons and carry a Z-9A helicopter. Wuchang begun work on Haijian-50 in February 2010 and will deliver it in June 2011.

  海监船的任务是进行海上执法、海洋调查和环境监测,是履行维护海洋权益、海域使用管理和海洋环境保护的工具。新下水的“中国海监50”号长98米,宽15·2米,排水量3336吨,是当前中国海监船中吨位最大、科技含量最高的一艘船。

  新船最大航速18海里,保持此速度可在海上行驶8000海里,补给一次能在海上支撑60天。船上配备当今世界众多先进装备,比如装载可控被动式减摇水舱系统,能抗12级台风。搭载Z9A型直升机,形成海空互动的远程巡航执法和快速反应能力,还有卫星动力控位设备,卫星通讯导航设备以及先进的海洋巡航,调查,取证设备。

  自上世纪80年代武船开始建造海监船,至今新建11艘、维修3艘。昨日下水的“海监50”号,于2010年2月正式开工建设,工期15个月,在3个月的相关试验检验后,预计今年6月交付使用。

  武船透露,由于这艘船设备先进,制造过程要求高,作业量也是普通船的一倍左右。武船攻关8项课题,保证制造质量。仅在外板精度控制上,就动用许多办法。船台车间负责人介绍,为在不伤船体结构的前提下校平船板,没有“动锤子”敲打,而是现场采用“水火校正”,即火烤水泼校正几公分。经过超声波等控伤,新船的合格率达到100%。
