China Coast Guard and Patrol vessels

It's smart for China to keep its coast guard vessels unarmed to avoid the appearance of militarizing the South China Sea disputes. Keeping those vessels unarmed reduces the risk of a miscalculation that could start a war, and allows China to hold the moral high ground in a clash.

What are the two holes in the bow?

Could some one from members furnish the current fleet numbers (including new launches) for CG/MSA etc.

Thanks

Any more info or pictures coming out of China about the very large 12,000 ton cutters?

I haven't seen or heard about them in some time...and have not been able to find any pictures regarding them.

Tphuang? Have you heard or seen any more?

Funny you should mention that; recently we had pictures of JNCX with a rather large something outside...

Apparently, what looks like one big ship (with an AOR like bridge/superstructure at the bow) is actually two ships in tandem. The module closer to the camera may be the 12k.

In the third photo you can see the aft module with what seems to be a helipad (currently lacking hangar?) alongside a newly launched 052D (maybe number 5?). The aft half of the mystery aft module is almost as long as the 052D, which I think gives some indication as to just how big it will end up being. Whether it actually is the 12k is another matter...

Holy J-um that is one hell of unit first time we have seen the structure together

We had seen modules for it but this just shows how big the cutter is going to be

Truly awesome sight can't wait to see it sailing in the water

The rear end looks like it's going to have lots of activity going on might have two decks or maybe one with large operating platform

Either way this is excellent news!!!!
