Please make sure you read the Forum Rules. They are posted as a Sticky Thread in all of the Forums.

2nd, your question about such basic level issues is somthing you will need to research yourself. Google things like Satellite Communictions, or, VHF Receivers, or, High Frequency Communcation Methods, etc. and read up on it.

This thread is specifically about Chinese Coast Guard vessels, and can also be about the equipment on those vessels. We post articles and information about them and then have professional discussions about them.

Read what others post. Do some research. Then engage in the conversation.

Is that big black patchwork along the hull normal for new ship construction?
This looks more like a Chinese CG ship that was damaged (SCS? ECS?) being repaired especially since the black patchwork is on top of an existing final paint job.

Question I have is can these coast guards ships take on replenishment and resupply from the likes of PLAN tankers like Type 903 and Type 903A

They need to start integration more the coast gaurd with the PLAN

nice picture. hand to ''east sea maritime branch on jan 2015'' that means this ship will see lots of action in and around the DYT. we would see plenty of nice photographs of it taken from the japan coast guard:p
