China Coast Guard and Patrol vessels

Apparently, what looks like one big ship (with an AOR like bridge/superstructure at the bow) is actually two ships in tandem. The module closer to the camera may be the 12k.

In the third photo you can see the aft module with what seems to be a helipad (currently lacking hangar?) alongside a newly launched 052D (maybe number 5?). The aft half of the mystery aft module is almost as long as the 052D, which I think gives some indication as to just how big it will end up being. Whether it actually is the 12k is another matter...

Now THAT is what I am talking about.

Any more info or pictures coming out of China about the very large 12,000 ton cutters?

I haven't seen or heard about them in some time...and have not been able to find any pictures regarding them.

If it's 12,000 tons for sure there must be large deck and also large hanger facility's for aviation facility's

When deployed from home shores it would prove to be a very valuable asset to have

Z8 platform has made a lot of progress in recent months with the addition of the aircraft carrier and that will benefit the rest of the PLAN vessels

We are now seeing big ticket items kicking in from PLAN and the coast guard

It is said that including ships currently being built and about to be built soon, there are ten 4000ton coastguard ships, six 3500ton marine surveillance ships, four 6000ton coastguard ships, eleven 3500ton fishing administration ships, and four plus 12000ton coastguard ships. Number of 3000ton+ ships is unprecedented 50.

Jiangnan Changxing, Shanghai.
Same shipyard that builds the 052C/D DDGs and soon 055.

It does seem odd with no signs of a hangar. Also, what are those white rigs on both sides of the hull? Rigs to lower RHIBs?

Yes, and yes.

The lack of a hangar is strange, as is the incomplete helipad. But as I said, it ain't finished yet.
