Would kinda be a waste if they don't decide to cram a TBCCE down the line.

They will. China is progressing very fast on the next generation engine because they learned so much during the WS-15 process.

Another thing Yankee stated in his video is that J-36 is by no means a perfect fighter as is but nothing could match it in the near future. Apparently CAC had design ambitions that they needed to compromise on. I wonder if propulsion is one of the compromises.

From that PoV, Germans called the Heavy fighter/Jachtkruiser types like Me 410, Mosquito and Hornet, "Zerstörer", literally destroyer.
I am aware, but was looking for something more imaginative than a purely naval term. Some people call it a battlecruiser f.e., again a purely naval term. Hence why i chose Fightercruiser as the name of a new class of combat aircraft J-36 represents, not unlike Dreadnought back in the day giving it's name to a new breed of warship, as an example.

Pretty sure it has an official role name somewhere (like US had PCA for example). When the program nears induction, the PLA will reveal it and if it is the first type of its aircraft in the world, that program role designation will become the semi-official name of the new type of airplanes.

I have a question.

Given that this aircraft's serial number is 36011, does it imply that it is a prototype rather than a technology demonstrator?
We are aware that J20's first flight is number 2001, classified as an engineering verification aircraft, whereas the prototype numbered 2011 made its first flight in 2014. Could it be that the technical milestone of 36011 aligns with the development stage of 2011 in 2014? Additionally, was the scaled-down tailless aircraft captured by satellite in 2021 perhaps the engineering verification aircraft for 36011?
The J20 pre-production model made its first flight in January 2016 and was subsequently delivered to the military in 2017. Based on this timeline, is there any justification for us to believe that the sixth-generation fighter will enter pre-production trials or even be deployed to the military around 2027?

36011 even has camouflage paint, similar to the NO.2011 in 2014.
I'm far from the most qualified person in chinese aviation matters here, but certainly looks like it. The 2021 plane was the demonstrator for J-36, just like the americans flew their NGAD demonstrators in 2018-2020. J-36 is the prototype of the full fledged combat aircraft, which aiui the americans haven't even flown yet. And as i saw the question whether J-36 will be in service by 2029, i'm thinking but of course it will, 2029 will be 80 years of PRC, what better gift to the nation for such a milestone than an operational 6th gen J-36 fightercruiser? Same could hopefully go for J-50 as well.
