Morocco has not applied to join BRICS said the state media
Morocco has not made a formal request to join the BRICS grouping and will not attend its summit in South Africa, state news agency MAP said on Saturday.
MAP denied a statement by South Africa's foreign minister Anil Sooklal who said earlier this month Morocco was among the nations seeking to join the bloc.
"South Africa allowed itself to speak about Morocco's ties with the BRICS without prior consultation," it said.
Morocco would not attend the BRICS meeting in South Africa, MAP said, adding: "South Africa has in fact always shown a primary hostility towards Morocco and has systematically taken negative and dogmatic positions on the Moroccan Sahara issue."

Argentina will not join the BRICS group; Alberto Fernandez has renounced participation in the summit
Alberto Fernández, Argentina’s President, has opted not to attend the XV Summit of BRICS taking place this week in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Official sources confirmed on Monday that Argentina’s integration into the BRICS group is not on the horizon, writes EFE agency in its latest report.
Without potential membership, Argentina misses the chance to access immediate loans from the New Development Bank of BRICS.

Because Brics is a joke. Members are just so compromised to do anything, even deliver speech. Maybe only Russia is serious.
To Give the rest a platform, the vanguards are the Chinese and the Russian, they were the anchor that stabilized BRICS. They were partners as both compliment each other, so who needs who, India is a basket case with nothing to offer except their 56 inch month, South Africa represent Africa and so is Brazil in South America. So in essence BRICS maybe a way to circumvent the UN, World bank and other western led institution, a boon to us in the Global South because we had choices and bane for the Collective West because we had waken up.
Then just need to create CR, not Brics. India is a western assets, Brazil and South Africa are failed states. They can switch their attitude towards China in a night. 3/5 members are spineless is an impediment to decision making. At least should kick India out. You want India block every decision that benefits China?
Yup they can make noises as they leverage BUT like I said their voices have no VALUE without China and Russia leading the block. I ask you why India is very prominent without doing a sweat and contribution, they're the darling of the west BUT why the hesitation the full embrace? Maybe Smell is a factor...lol Joking aside at least in BRICS they are a partner while in the QUAD they served tea to their master.
