Ideally in the short term for China, they can create another "spark" in Mexico while the "spark" already started in Ukraine is kept alive.

These 2 happenings would bog US down into wasteful conflicts, meanwhile China would keep dangling Taiwan out of reach in front of US to keep them spending lots on aircraft carriers and F35s.

The Middle East, it's markets and it's oil is the prize in the next phase. Bonus points if shit can be stirred against US in Africa and South America at the same time.

4. Paid off India to act as a Trojan horse

In general, China doesn't need to play on the chess board that US wants to play.

Just flipping Middle East towards it would be a major coup for China and a big loss for the US
Hmm, India has been acting in it's own national interests and will continue to do so

It's a good thing that both India and Brazil have agreed now to expand members after much pressure. Just need to continue to grow and use local currency

The BRICS country official said that admission criteria India's Modi proposed included requiring members not be the target of international sanctions, ruling out potential candidates Iran and Venezuela.

Also deal on BRICS expansion is, surprise... held up by India so far:
However, a BRICS member country official with direct knowledge of the discussions told Reuters that the leaders had not yet signed a finalised admission framework.
An agreement had been meant to be adopted following a plenary session earlier on Wednesday, but the source said it had been delayed after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced new admission criteria.

The BRICS country official said that admission criteria India's Modi proposed included requiring members not be the target of international sanctions, ruling out potential candidates Iran and Venezuela.

Modi was also pushing for a minimum per capital GDP requirement.
"These are the things Modi brought in today," the official said. "So they are becoming a little bit of a spoiler."

Those all seem to be reasonable requests.

As for Iran, can we just see if they are actually included? Should we believe everything reuters say?

I'm a huge supporter of Pakistan, but it really doesn't bring enough economically (not when it needs this much IMF assistance).

A little surprised on Argentina since I thought their president said no recently

Other than that, I think Indonesia is a bigger omitter here

Clearly you want to include SA and UAE in there, because BRICS need their monetary power

Egypt & Ethiopia allow you to represent all of Africa now (since you got north, middle and south all represented)
