They will try to "find ways to improve relations and put pressure on South Africa to re-evaluate its relations with Moscow and Beijing."
ANC, the major party in South Africa and which control their government, used to receive support from the Soviet Union when they were still considered a banned political force and most of their leaders like Nelson Mandela were arrested. To blacks in Africa in general, the Soviet Union and China were their main sources of support in their anti-colonization efforts. So, most countries in Sub-Saharan Africa have close political ties with Russia even today.

I wouldn't go as far as saying most countries in Sub-Saharan Africa have close ties with Russia but most don't have any issues with Russia and have warm ties. There are a few that have close ties with Russia though, mainly central/southern parts.

Look who's pushing Italy to pull out of BRI. Meloni is essentially admitting that the US is exerting pressure on Italy to wirhdraw from BRI. Note that Meloni only emphasize that Biden did directly raised the BRI issue but she will be obligated to report on the BRI status when she meets this week.

"Italy's denial is a de facto acknowledgement that the US is exerting pressure on Italy to pull out of BRI. If Biden did not challenge Italy on the BRI, why is Meloni set to notify the US about Italy's decision on the initiative during her visit to the White House?" Wang Yiwei

Wang Yi: China to strengthen strategic communication with Russia
Senior Chinese diplomat Wang Yi said on Monday that China is ready to strengthen strategic communication with Russia and enhance strategic mutual trust.

Wang, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks during a meeting with Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev in Johannesburg, South Africa, on the sidelines of the 13th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisers and High Representatives on National Security.

Izvestia, citing sources, reports that "The Russian MoD is considering the establishment of an aviation regiment of Tu-160 strategic missile carriers in the Far East region." According to the sources, "a final decision has not yet been made."
Izvestia further notes that the decision "will depend on the volume and composition of the state defense order." (At present, some exisitng Tu-160s are being modernized to the Tu-160M standard, and production of new Tu-160Ms is ongoing).
According to Izvestia's sources, if the decision is approved, "then the Tu-160 regiment will become part of the long-range aviation unit that is based in the Amur Oblast" (i.e. the 326th Heavy Bomber Aviation Division (TBAD)).

Looks like China and Russia both agreed it's soon time to bring out the big sticks for the mad dogs. Meanwhile the mouthbreathers at LessCredibleDefence theory-crafting that China needs a military base on Sakhlin for reunification but Russia won't let China cause Russia has trust issues.

Whether China, India support or exhaust each other will directly affect their development processes, global landscape: China's senior diplomat

According to Chinese Foreign Ministry, Wang will attend the 13th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisers and High Representatives on National Security in Johannesburg from Monday to Wednesday, and visit Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Türkiye before and after the meeting.
Wang Yi said that China and India should adhere to the strategic judgment that the two countries are not threats to each other but opportunities for each other's development. They should truly implement the consensus on stabilizing bilateral relations into specific policies, transform it into coordinated actions across departments and fields, and push China-India relations back onto a track of healthy and stable development at an early date.
Doval said that India and China, as two ancient civilizations, two neighboring countries, and the world's two most populous nations, are two major forces that influence the evolution of the world's pattern. Both countries share many common views on the future of humanity and the world with extensive mutual interests.

in the host country of South Africa as part of the build-up to the highly anticipated summit of the bloc next month. Political and security cooperation is one of the original objectives of BRICS cooperation, and it is also one of the pillars of the current BRICS agenda.
From the photos and Indian media it looks like Wang and Doval had a decent talk, maybe the recent pressure from the west got India to tone down the anti-China sentiments a bit.

Its very logical that an employee has to give a work report to the boss.

The president of Indonesia will be visiting China to meet Xi at the World University Games.

Given this and the recent Russia-China-Indonesia conference I think there's something deeper going on.

China's continued investment into Indonesia is obvious but perhaps Widodo is also anxious about recent Australian and Philippines encroachment? Plenty of shared interests there.

I'd love to see another Chinese diplomatic coup, possibly concerning the SCS situation.

Indonesia is the prize of southeast Asia. If they can sell weapons to Indonesia, it would be the best.

I do expect byd plant to be announced soon. Maybe this will be the time they do it

When you have Indonesia and Thailand you have ASEAN, the rest is an outlier.
