Those are air intake vents. Air will go through filter and temperature control to get rid of salt and moistures. Clean filtered air will then feed into the engine.

Exhaust air flow through funnels with opening at the tops of the island structure.

What are the new ships under construction? I've heard there's a new batch of 055s (for total of 16?) and a new 076?

What about 054A or 054B or 052D?

Just curious, does anybody know if the UVLS is designed to be able to function in modules of 8?

Or is there some kind of gas expulsion structure that imposes a minimum limit of 16/32 etc

Do we have any confirmation or speculation as to the length of UVLS on 052D and 055s?

I've heard someone say that 052D has all 9m cells located on the fore, while the aft cells are all 7m. He based this off the idea that YJ-18s have always been seen launching from the front and never from the back. More specifically, only the 16 fore cells close to the bridge. So likely a combination of 16 x 9m cells and 48 x 7m cells

What about 055? If I'm not wrong we've seen the YJ-21 launched from the aft right? So definitely some 9m cells at the aft but no idea about the number

The total number of missile launches that we saw circulated on the Internet or on TV news is too small statistically for making any conclusions. Anyway these are classified info you don't expect to get on public forums.

And Maersk operates ships for the US Navy. The US has also developed similar containers with anti-shipping missiles. So what.
Maybe China should also forbid Maersk ships from operating in China.

Certainly Tom S was pretty unhinged in that thread - as many pointed out to him. Stopping Chinese-owned merchant ships calling as US ports would be a BIG step on the road to full decoupling. Maybe that's what his paymasters want.
