Question..in all these war games that are conducted using "real life" situations is the US allowed to use both passive and active sonar ? ....and were are the USN SSN? Those boats are the greatest sub-hunters/killers on Earth. Period. All USN CSG have an SSN assigned...I'm sure a LA class or Virginia class has knocked out the apposing sub on more than one occasion. I'm very sure about that.
Many of us foretasted just such a potential.
You cannot change human nature.
Wherever this is happening, on whatever ships, it will negatively impact the fighting ability of that combatant in war time.
Foolishness to put women in such positions in the Navy or any other services. IMHO.
There are positions that they can hold down and function well in.
Being isolated on a ship or out in the field with a bunch of men who are on full testosterone as they prepare for or actually participate in warfare is simply not wise at all.
In fact, IMHO, such ides come form people who have no understanding of what it means (or should mean) to be in combat war fighting position...or they do understand it and want to degrade it.
...and make no mistake, we have politicians and progressives in this nation who want to do exactly that.

Most such wargames are hevily weighted for the red force.
When they do conduct war games where the carrier force has full sensor and weapons capability, they alms invariably come out on top in a big way...but those outcomes do not get reported because they do not fit the narrative, particularly that the last administration wanted to produce and advertise.

Best work arounds I have heard is to take the offensive edge. Keep the US carrier numbers around where they are in the 300+ fleet schemes and up the number of Virginia class SSGN configured subs. The sea denial missiles can take surface targets but if the threat is submersible the threat Dynamics change. Sea denial is aimed to deny access and reaction by US carrier forces and allow the denying nation unrestricted access. But subs can deny.

but you are preaching to a convinced ... and why since about 5 years was decided to buil 2 Virginias by year but LA was very numerous to replaced 62 and build in only 20 years up to 4 commiss. by years ! in addition only 3 Sea Wolf commiss. 1997 - 2005 so now idelay USN need in 2020's 2.5 Virginia by year for get an increase have 50 - 60 SSNs the minimum necessary is to 52 officialy now 48 but the 4 Ohio can be used as a SSN ofc better after have fired their Tomahawks in more logic they do it in first also silencious than a LA 688i about but armed with only 13 torpedoes, SSBN have 8.Edit :
A TF is out of range of DF-21D with Tomahawk 1700 km vs 1500 km the D variant have a range a bit inferior other 1700 -1800 km accuray 20?? - 50 m ? ofc vs a moving target it is more difficult.
SM-3 and 6 can intercept so now USN get a defense vs it but a big Naval armaments race to be started !
