I have never seen a Nimitz class with 130 birds on board before. I mean it's technically possible however you will end up being less effective because you will have heck of a hard time to prep the birds, move them into place for launch etc since the entire hanger space and most of flight deck will be very confine. Also VERY dangerous when you have so many aircraft on deck! You increase the possibility of accidents happening exponentially especially during GQ or active combat.

I only post here what i read elsewhere. If its wrong then i know i can get the correct answer here.;)

Thank you! That's quite a complement for all of us!

That's makes a total of about 90 planes. The Nimitz class can hold up to a maximum of 130 F/A-18's if needed.

Truth..^^^^

In 1981 aboard USS America (CV 66) with CVW-11 aboard we had 90 aircraft aboard. Trust me it was crowded.

Also with 130 Hornets you'd need to add at a minimum 4 helos and 4 Hawkeyes..In addition where are all the extra personnel going to berth? That would mean about 1000 extra shipmates!! kwaigonegin, can you imagine the chow lines?!! And where will the extra aircraft maintenance spaces be located? A Nimitz class is big..but not that big!

The notional airwing targeted by USN during the late Cold War - never fully attained - was 24 heavy fighter (f-14A/B/D) 12 heavy strike(A-6E/F), 24 dual role strike/fighter (F-18C/D) 4 AWAC, 12 fixed wing ASW (S-3), 12 multipurpose helicopter, 4COD, for a total of 92 aircraft.

That probably represents the limit of versatile airwing size that could be permanently supported on a Nimitz sizes carrier.

More news on the Turkish flat top Navantia is going to supply the design, engine, turbines and integrated management platform syetem and the LCM-1E crafts

Chinese lost the bid because Turkey did not want to risk a design which is not currently operational and a non-existent ship

Mistal Class was rejected because of political reasons France and Turkey don't agree on Armenian genocide issues

Will keep a eye on this one

USS America, LHA-6, wrapped up her builders trials in November. Here's a great picture of her at sea:

...and a video of those sea trials:
