aksha please, it was expected that with the arrival of Vikramaditya, Viraat would be transferred to Visakhapatnam and each coast get one CV as before when Vikrant was in service, finaly seems Eastern Command has a CV when Vikrant II will operate, you confirm ?

Another great new semi-official video (from pilots' association) to celebrate 40 years of Super Etandards

Remains 19 SEM-5 ( Super Etendard modernised 5th variant ) whose 12 used by Flotilla 17F, this unit will be transformed on Rafale in summer 2016.

Only Argentina used also this fighter.

i think that the vikrant will be operated by the eastern navy, whilethe viraat will be retired or modified into an amphibious ship(very unlikely) ,you will vikrant's being send to te eastern navy because all newest indegenous escorts like kamortas, shivaliks, the second batch of shivalik frigates( for which the usa has offered aegis) ,the second batch of upgraded kolkata class destroyers, project 75i deisel electric submarines(scorpene/type 216/amur/s80 with vls cruise land attack capable missles(klub/bramhos M) are being or will be inducted ito the eastern navy, while the western navy is getting the kolkatas, and will also get 3 more talwars(a deal was signed after the trikand was inducted ,but nobody knows its status)with vls sams and with new tech and upgradation after the russian admiral gorshkov class stealth frigates, project 75 scorpene class deisel electric submarines (first 4 without aip and last with an indegenous fuel cell based aip).everbody says that after the induction of vikrant ,the western navy will no longer be the sword arm of the indian navy.

WESTERN PACIFIC OCEAN (NNS) -- Two F/A-18 Hornets from Carrier Air Wing 17 embarked on the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) crashed at 5:40 p.m. local time, today, while operating at sea in the western Pacific Ocean. The initial report is that the two aircraft are assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 94 (VFA-94) and Strike Fighter Squadron 113 (VFA-113).

One pilot was rapidly located and returned to Carl Vinson, and is currently receiving medical attention. Search efforts continue for the second pilot.

The search for the second pilot includes guided-missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill (CG 52) and guided-missile destroyer USS Gridley (DDG 101) and helicopters assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 15 (HSC 15) and Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 73 (HSM 73).

The two F/A-18C Hornets have not been recovered.

All remaining airborne aircraft were safely recovered onboard.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
