I think this is more than trivial. Using tractors which were designed to work on farms on an aircraft carrier is just like using IED in a modern battle field. What does this indicate? Your fleet is not professional. You're unable to design and make your own tug. You don't even have enough $$$ to buy a tug, why bothering operate an aircraft carrier? As I stated before "Aircraft carriers are not for slum dog government".

I guess we could conclude it is rather Podunk, although the USN used tractors in the past so?

Well, an aircraft tug isn't that complicated as far as vehicle designs goes, think that's not something beyond Tata's capability to design and build (or license a foreign model and build), and that's chunk change when consider how much India spend annually on defense, kinda hard to believe they go skimpy on this.

Not really, they just look at things a little differently, I have a nice motorcycle, but an old helmet.LOL

Damaged TBM Avenger, March 1945. The outlined arrow on the tail ("G" symbol) was not the design assigned by the Bureau of Aeronautics, but the ship's CO, CAPT Hall, believed it reduced aircraft visibility during night operations, at a time when his ship was operating as a night carrier.

With the delivery schedule slated as far as 2027, that'd be 15 years later before another USS Enterprise sails the high seas.

the Head Family better clears some room in the den. Jeff is going too be doing back flips.
Well, after the cancer and the three ops in 2010...I'm afraid back flips are out of the question...too much high grade titanium in the old back now.

But, we will still have to clear room in the den (or wherever) so I can build the 1/350 scale model of this baby just as soon as one comes out! Hehehe, LOL! Oh yea...you bet ya, you can count on it!

In the old days, when things were not so available, people used whatever they have. Chinese army used cows and human power to tow artillery as well. However, If you look carefully at the tractors on the US carrier, you might find that they are not normal tractors you would find on farms but they were specially designed ones for working on carrier until tugs were invented.

However, my point was that when you do things, you should do it professionally, especially when tugs are not that difficult to design or too expensive to purchase. If you think that this is trivial, never mind!

You don't need these huge wheel on smooth carrier deck.
