Some Vikramaditia pics from last February...


I know it is a refitted carrier... and those pictures show it... Some of the equipment may be 21st century, but when you look at some of the details, the corridors, the rooms etc... it all looks a bit dated already compared to modern vessels

bd do you know if the Nimitz class have pivotable mast? if not can they clear low structures like the Brooklyn Bridge?

No they do not. They can clear most bridges. I know there is a bridge in the Suez that is easily cleared. And the Golden Gate and SF-Oakland Bay bridge are easily cleared as well as others.

There is no need for carriers to go to NYC...except for fleet week. The Brooklyn Navy yard was closed in 1966.

Actually, no. It is not boring. It is likely to be conducting air operations with its wing of Mig-29K aircraft well before the new PLAN Carrier is conducting air ops with J-15s...and the Indians have another new carrier lined up right behind it to be launched within the next 12-18 months. So...not boring at all.

I just learned CdeG and USS Eisenhower will conduct joint maneuvers about 1 month from now
