Maybe the real reason that some people are upset about her "defection" to China is that they've lost a great presidential candidate (and a minority to boot).

Just watched the figure skating. I know I am kind of being harsh on her, and kudos for coming back after the falls in the team, but surely Cheng Hong Yi would have done much much better than Zhu Yi. I don't think she is gonna make it through to the free program lol.
(I understand they are all just bridesmaid to the 3 Russians...)

LOL I thought I was the only one. When I first came across this event a few days ago, I immediately thought this is wack. The guy who invented this sport must be high on drugs. I dun know how he thought of getting two guys on top on another on a sled and having them race down a narrow ice track at speeds over 100km/hr would be a good idea.

But on serious note. I didn't realize the Germans won 6 of their 8 gold medals on this track and 2 more available coming up with the bobsleigh events. I was puzzled where they got their golds from. And wondering why they are so dominant in these events. If someone can crack their secret, their gold medals will be up for grabs next time

Germans are very good drivers. The commentators said it umpteenth times.

You can have a lackluster start at sledding but if you drive extremely well you can still come out tops.

Germans being good at driving in general is no surprise.

The Latvian Dukurs brothers Tomass and Martins not performing well is surprising. They are perhaps the greatest sledders of all time. But they are now around 40 years old.

I read on weibo chen hongyi actually was the one who earned the Olympics qualification spot that was given to Zhu. I can't confirm though.
