Yeah you are probably right. This was from a video that was tweetedAny athelete has the right to ignore questions. In the YouTube channel I don't think you will find the recording of such questions. They edit the interview to make it short.

Lol then you better have a whole bevy of Z8 medivac helis and Y10 hospital planes.Well in my opinion the skiing events should have been in Tibet.
Hard disagree. For me that image of the athletes jumping at Max height with the chimneys in the background and Beijing 2022 logo, it is very iconic. I will remember it for a long time conpared to some generic mountains. That is why placing the a ski jump next to the old steel plant was a mistake. All snow related events should be located on the mountains. There are separate Olympics village up there on the mountains. It is an image that would lend itself to intentional bashing. Like they would use that image to reinforce their pre-conceived notion that China is polluting.
As the athletes jumped up in mid air and was showed in slow motion, those chimneys provided an ugly back drop. You would want to see beautiful skies and mountains as the back drop.
All the Beijing snow is human-made -- a resource-intensive, 'dangerous' trend as planet warms. Natural snow is becoming less reliable for winter sports, which has led venues to lean more on artificial. But that comes at a cost.
Oh CNN... Beijing's got real snowfall now. Bummer... So are you gonna report this as God's work, or the work of some CCP weather machine?
CCP doing cloud seeding. Seeseepee bad!Maybe they will criticize china again for not having better weather.
That's exactly what chinese media should do. Bring up assange and guantanamo everytime there's a press conferenceThere was a reporter who asked Chen about the peng shuai situation. Which was ridiculous as I doubt Chinese reporters asked Chloe Kim about US gymnastics sex abuse scandal.
Anyway he said he will have some replies to these question when he get home. I hope he has the pr skills of Gu, as he could get into political minefield. From previous experience he seem to be abit tonedeaf.
I'm not against having ski destinations in Tibet. That'll be nice. They'll surely have a formidable reputation for winter sportsmen around the world. I'm sure that China can pull off the logistics to make it happen. But if any Winter Olympics is gonna be held there. Its gonna be controversy galore. There is a 15 day trek in the Himalayas which just requires basic fitness and health. Almost all the support staff will be that fit. Spectator revenue is nothing compared to tv and internet revenue . And do you know how popular lhasa is . The natural slopes in the mountains are unrivalled which altay does not match. I don't know why the altitude is punishing. The European train high up in the Alps. Some Americans train in Alaska. The start is probably 1 km above the finish line. Just the thought of skiing in the Himalayas is exciting.
There are ski resort in Tibet . Also kailash parbat is far away form the resorts. They just don't have the political pull. There is no torture at the height of Tibet . High up in the mountains is another question.I'm not against having ski destinations in Tibet. That'll be nice. They'll surely have a formidable reputation for winter sportsmen around the world. 1) The West will complain about Tibetan human rights.
2) The West will also complain about subjecting their journalists to high altitude torture. Another abuse to human rights and free press.
3) The Dalai Lama might complain about China turning 'his precious Kingdom of Tibet' into a ski resort venue.
4) Butthurt India might complain that the Himalayan mountains belong to Lord Shiva. So that area belongs to India, and China is having a Winter Olympics on 'occupied Indian holy lands'. Who cares what India thinks, but the West will surely take India's side and unleash more boycotts and sanctions.
