He was featured and appear on teammate's SMS video post where he said he fully support a teammate's accusation of genocide in Xinjiang. Maybe taken out of context and maybe peer pressure but MAYBE NOT.

Regardless, he should have just shutup as this is a no win situation for him personally. I wouldn't be too hard on him though as people in his position are in tremendous pressure to conform to gain acceptance to organization he cares about. To Bloomberg. This is what the Chinese Olympic Athletes are to them:

1) Eileen Gu = Traitor. Wins gold for China = elevated to Judas. Therefore, she is the big bad American Chinese.

2) Zhu Yu = Traitor. Fallen on ice = deserves hate from USA and China. Therefore, she is an embarrassment of a Chinese.

3) Nathan Chen = Good Asian slave. Wins gold for team USA. Everyone, including all of China must applaud him for big powerful America. Therefore, he is the example Chinese. All other Chinese who plays for China are evil CCP mercenaries.

A short documentary of the choir children who sung the Olympic anthem in Greek at the closing stages of the opening ceremony. Three are not many countries apart from Greece who did sing the Olympic anthem in Greek.

These choir children were from Malan village, which was recently elevated out of desperate poverty in 2020. Zhang Yimou, the director felt that it would be great to have these children who were from a once impoverished village show their talents at the world stage. It took them 3 months to learn and sing the Olympic anthem in Greek. Even some Greek conservativory folks were impressed.

Now that is a story worth telling. But unfortunately, this story would be buried in the West by all the 'evil CCP' stories.
