The match tomorrow between Busenaz of Turkey and Hong Gu of China for Boxing (welterweight women )is one to watch out for. Ofcourse, i think Busenaz has advantage due to her stockier large frame.

America has good potential of getting 7 gold today (2 in athletics, 1 each in baseball, basketball, golfing, water polo, and wrestling).

China has a few decent chances as well, obviously not as many.

Then on the last day US 4 finals (2 boxing gold events, and 1 in basketball and 1 in volleyball).

So in total 11 gold medal finals/top contenders in the final two days.

I am not sure how many China has but it's not gonna be as many.

Note, I do not think US will win all of those, but 9 of those 11 are gold medal finals against one other team. So without knowing much about their competitors they have a 50/50 chance on 9 of these. And the 2 others they placed first in the heats by a good margin.

They of course have at least another half dozen events they are competing in where they can medal, but I don't know enough to say if they are gold favorites for any of those (cycling, pentathlon, karate, other athletics events, so on).

China still has some finals in rowing/kayaking. You need to check to be sure. They are in team synchronized swimming, but most likely Russia will win, and China will be second.
