I think the LPD isn't using a 100mm stealth turret like on the new class of destroyers , but it looks like it's using a modified stealthy AK-176

Has there been any sign of the LCAC for this yet?

Also, how does the Z-8 rate as an assault helo? I assume that is what will be used.

don't think Z-8 is an assault helo, it's used more for transport and naval purposes. Alright, some new pictures of 071, including a Helix model on the helipad now.

even more pictures of 071 from the recent days. Looks like most of the work on the sensors are finally done. I'm guessing sea test should start soon. They don't seem to be putting any SAMs on this, so I guess that blows up some of the past theories on it.

don't think Z-8 is an assault helo, it's used more for transport and naval purposes.

I've seen it being used in an assault role before; maybe its being used to give an interim capability plus to train up. But if thats the case, there must be something else in the pipeline.

are we looking at the prototype for the chines carrier a ship with a internal hanger. To test larg scale construction of a complex ship not shure what the weight of the 071 LPD

I think they are just making her very pretty for when she takes to sea for her sea trials. There will be a lot of press and exposure for that event as she sails forth and the PLAN wants her to look completely squared away for the world to see. That's my opinion.
