re: PLAN Type 071 LPD & its Landing Craft

i think there was confusion about the 3rd and 4th LPDs, pictures were not in order and i have a feeling only 3 have been identified

and also China imported in 2004, 4 x PC 2.5, and between 2007-2011 14 x PC 2.5 diesel engines from France, to make a total of 18 engines, these were fitted to 2 x Fuchi, Danyao and Type 071 LPD

so all engines are used after the 3rd LPD and apart from rumours I have not heard that China is making these engines, which could be the reason why there isnt a 4th LPD, because lack of engines, just a thought

Could be inflation as well, as prices for raw materials are increasing lately.

I guess he's just trying to get posts to post pics or links ...

off topic

I thought he was a spammer. But his IP checks out. He's from China. I deleted all his up down post. I'll wait and see if he returns.

talked to a guy who went to the PLAN open house in hongkong. he was on 052c and actually saw store bought air conditioners on the wall in the mess hall. he said those weren't small portable ones, they are big ones that could cool a whole office floor. is that normal? I mean, for a ship as new as 052C, shouldn't those things be integrated into the initial design? store bought ones could be not up to quality require for the navy. for example, it's possible that the anchoring parts become lose and the whole machine crushing someone during storms on the highseas.

They use air conditioners made specifically for ships, "marine type packaged air conditioners" if you fancy to google it.

As new as the FFG 571, they also use something like that too and I personally saw 2 units of the Daikin R404 series in their mess hall.
