Coming along nicely back there behind the next 054A. She should be rolling out in the next couple of months, the other one looks a little further behind.

The PLAN continues to amaze at the shear number of vessels and classes being built simultaneousl;y around the country...from DDGs to FFGs, to SSNs, to LPDs, to CVs, to OPVs, to SSBNs, AOR vessels, FACs, etc., etc.

I'm more interested in knowing if production of 056 will continue in smaller, inner shipyards like how 022 production went.

This looks like it will be a decent ship. From the latest set of pics you can seed two small hangars likely for UAVs. It has decent surface to surface capability and enough for A2A with the HQ-10. If it is equipped with a decent ASW suite (TAS and hull mounted sonar, even getting the same as 054A would be good), and these ships are mass produced like 022 and fielded in china's near seas it would be a massive increase to the shipborne ASW capability for the PLAN.
Quantity is as important as quality in ASW for the PLAN at the moment.

I think these ships can serve as a lead ship for a squad of 022s with it's higher mounted sensors and potential UAVs providing the sensor coverage the 022s lack. Would it make sense for such a deployment?

Not sure if 056 can keep up with 022s top speed to act as a "lead ship," but certainly it can act as a command ship of the sorts. It is a corvette, but I expect it to have modern C4I capabilities and associated CIC that we've come to see on smaller, more modern surface combatants.
UAVs/helicopter from 056 could provide long range guidance for 022's missiles but Y-8GX variants like the ones equipped with sky master radar and KJ-200 should be able to work just as well. In fact we heard about 022s training with GX planes for long range anti ship missions a few years ago already.
