that's cool, please do, Jeff!

in the coming week I'll finally have the time to read an article on Type 056 in the newest copy of a Polish naval journal ... if there was anything in it what I'd think is unknown to the SDF, I'd post (so most probably I won't post :)

First 056A ASW variant with a towing sonar but no hangar for helo as 056 normaly for SSF.

Yahoo! I was just informed that my two 1/350 scale Type 056 model vessels have shipped! Should have them here next week and will immediately build both for my developing PLAN ARG around one or two Type 071 LPDs.

Can't wait.

It's going to be nice. I may make the appropriate cut outs to represent the ASW variant we are starting to see as this would be appropriate for escort duties of a LPD in the SCS.

Nice one Jeff

One thing I don't get with the rear helo deck of the Type 071 LPD is the dead space between the front and back helicopters the buffer zone which is the waste of space between the two landing zones

It's not large enough to handle a Z8 it's not small enough to move into and serves no purpose

Open deck space on a ship is very valuable piece of real estate I don't know why PLAN is wasting it like that for no purpose

Having said that I believe in a zig zag formation we can fit 2 x Z8 and 2 x Z9 helicopters

True ... but I believe the Chinese designers are extremely smart guys, so there must be a purpose, we just simply don't know it
