Well the steps on burke are there for AN/SPG-62s, and 055 definitely won't need illuminators like so.

More likely the steps are merely the L band radar's incomplete stand.

Will there be more exterior radars constructed on the body of the Type 55 mock up? I hope it doesn't compromise to much for the stealth.

Well technically all radars are exterior.

But I wouldn't hold out too much hope that the ship will be very stealthy, certainly not zumwalt level (which is probably excessive anyway).

Nano pic to break up the somewhat pedantic discussion about ship classifications. :p

The small raised steps on the back reminded me of Burke. Maybe there won't be an L-band type radar or at least not at that position?

And looks like they have covered those work level windows.

That space between the hangar and superstructure looks a lot longer now.

There won't be any ship anywhere over 10K tons that will come anywhere close to the stealth signature of the Zumwalt for at least another generation.
Keep in mind that even the Burke Flt IIA and FLT III ships which form the backbone of the USN surface warfare fleet and sailing alongside the Zumwalts for many more decades to come have 'normal' RCS.

There's plenty of work on this land structure and judging by the process I would say we are a few years away from seeing the modules for this unit

A very very powerful asset for any blue water navy and true escort for carrier strike group to give point and area defence

Can see the inheritance of the Type 052C/D in there

Double hanger two Z-15 helos and add in a rotary UAV for good measure

The ability to deploy unmanned underwater vehicles and electric propulsion should put the icing on the cake!

Plenty of VLS cells fully universal and a SMART type radar certainly make this combatant a formidable ships
