The difference in size is huge. 6000 tons of displacement?

Wait, so that cropped photo posted by @horobeyo just now actually comes from the exact same 054B hull that we have already seen for the past few months?

On the other hand, there seems to be another hull (of broadly similar size and build, IMO) under construction right behind the modified 054A for the CCG.

Unsure if that hull is yet another modified 054A for the CCG or a new 054B...

I'm not sure why Horobeyo was acting so mysterious about it but yeah, its the frigate at Huangpu. Its worth noting that there are more hulls behind both the 054B and the Coast Guard hull, but in both cases no definite confirmation what those hulls are (though a reasonable guess re 054B is theres another 054B behind, same as with Hudong).008cci5Sgy1hgdtggm05hj30zk1bfn7e.jpg

Is it safe to assume that from now on all 054A that are built are going to CCG and not the Navy?

PLAN has 40 054A in service and I'm assuming any future FFG they acquire will be 054B.

Edit: Never mind. I got my answer in another thread. 054A production is over and the last one 40th is on trials.
