Interesting spot, it is certainly a mast of some sort and it is reminiscent of the ones seen on PLAN warships.

You posted the picture here a week ago and in doing so stated that it showed the 5th HP boat and that the 4th was no longer visible as it had entered service.

The unpainted mast structure behind the main gun also appears to be at right angles with the completed frigate suggesting that it is on land and pointing inland. It is unfortunate that the picture is not of a higher resolution.

If that's an 056 being built, I think this has got to be the most frenzied pace of warship building seen during peace time. We're seeing pics of an 071 launched just months after it was on blocks, 052Cs under construction, usual 054 launches, and Varyag making substantial progress. And that's not counting the numerous coast guard vessels being launched.

If that's an 056 being built, I think this has got to be the most frenzied pace of warship building seen during peace time. We're seeing pics of an 071 launched just months after it was on blocks, 052Cs under construction, usual 054 launches, and Varyag making substantial progress. And that's not counting the numerous coast guard vessels being launched.

Don't forget about the new submarines we've seen the past few weeks and the 094/095 that are probably underway as well.

The 5th 054A from HD shipyard. It definitely has moved quite a bit from the last set of photos in September when they were still in smaller blocks, but the changes are mild compared to what we saw in 999. I guess they are really pouring all the resources into those Type 071s at HD.

a bunch of photos from HP shipyard. And from the looks of what I see now, I think my original assessment I was wrong. The pictures below look more like 054A than 056, so it looks 6th 054A in HP shipyard is under construction right now. Of the pictures I attached, the first one shows lower hull of this ship in the dock. The second picture should the mast of the ship. There is also a better picture that shows the module containing the front mast and the top of the hull. The next 2 photographs show 571 coming back to HP shipyard and placed side by side with the 5th 054A from HP shipyard. The final one shows all of the construction activity in the dry docks. You can see the 6th 054A, the 4th Haijian ship, a rescue ship and tugboat (could be wrong about the last two). There are also a couple of blocks from the shipyard that looks like they could be 056, but nothing conclusive.
